16.01.2022 We had our Barouche out yesterday at Living Legends at Oaklands . It was celebrating the horses birthday, lots of past cup winners were there including Prince of Penzance as in the photo . My daughter Ebony helped with the carriage, Maggie and Ruby did a good job and looked great with their winter coats . I was most privileged to hold the Melbourne Cup . A fabulous day well worth a visit for horse lovers it’s open everyday, lovely old homestead and out buildings with the country’s best thoroughbreds to see. The complex is run by head vet Mr Andrew Clarke with a dedicated team of horse handlers. I also met up with noted horseman John Patterson who attended the day ( Patto),A famous clerk of the course.

09.01.2022 Today we had a wedding with our Wagonette drawn by Maggie and Ruby . It was in the mountain area of Toolangi. The vehicle was a horse drawn Cab (Taxi)in its early life . I bought it when I was 16 years old for 5- and restored it . From here I started the Horse Drawn Cab Co . I have owned this for 52 years , I now use it mainly for training our horses, but today it was out as a wedding carriage . It was built most likely around 1900- so it’s over 100 years old . The builders were Stevenson and Elliot who were up market coach builders , they were the company who made the Cobb&Co coaches for the Victorian areas , I’ve researched and found out they closed their factory in 1907. I feel privileged to be a custodian for this , and it is kept with our other 25 carts and carriages.
