24.01.2022 Sometimes the universe seems to know just what you need, after a difficult week last week, the first thing I see pop up on Monday morning is this post from a great lady As a coach to read this it makes all those working weekends, long days, sore feet, tired legs and aching backs worth every minute of it. So I thought Id take this opportunity to say thank you for entrusting me to coach you and help train your horses and let you all know that I really am very grateful that I have all of you as my absolutely lovely clients and treasure you all, most of you are now very good friends .
24.01.2022 Presentation night for all the kids at Mortlock Pony Club, who all did wonderfully well and went home with some beautiful trophies and flowers and choccies for their coach (me) Thank you all my little munchkins (and all your mums and dads who bring you and your ponies and patiently wait for you to do your lessons), you've all had a great year I look forward to seeing you all again next year
24.01.2022 Brilliant idea for next few hot days - free a water bottle (the bigger the better) and put it in your horses trough to keep their water cooler on these really hot days (and keep them drinking!). I cant take credit for this one - just saw it on the horse hacks page but such a simple brilliant idea had to share :-)
23.01.2022 Such a good read
23.01.2022 A very true worthwhile read

21.01.2022 The joys of float training endless patience!!!
21.01.2022 I've been coaching the ladies at Wooroloo Adult Riding Club for 2 years now and it is the best, friendliest, most enjoyable adult riders club you will ever find This is a club where everyone helps set up & pack up & everyone helps & encourages each other It is absolutely my pleasure to be their coach and I really enjoy seeing the riders and horses improve every rally day ... If you are looking for somewhere to take your horse out too ride with other people, where you are in a safe environment, won't be pressured to do anything you don't want to do and everyone is friendly then this is the club you should join! Every rally day (once a month on a Sunday) we do different things (on majority vote for the day) which includes ground work, arena work,.working on soft hands, lots of flexion and bending work, we might practice hack show classes or western show classes, some small show jumping and we do lots of pole work and big pole patterns (sometimes up to 25 poles, they get really interesting) so it's not your normal standard flat work & show jumping each time If you are interested let me know and I'll put you in touch with Belinda, the president of Wooroloo Adult Riding Club.

19.01.2022 I copied this from someone else but good for a laugh How Many Horses Does It Take...... To Change a Lightbulb... Thoroughbred: Who ME?? Do WHAT? Im scared of light bulbs! Im outta here! Arabian: I changed it an hour ago Cmon you guys catch up! Quarter Horse: Put all the bulbs in a pen and tell me which one you want. Standardbred: Oh for Petes Sake, give me the darn bulb and lets be done with it. Shetland: Give it to me. Ill kill it and we wont have to worry about it anymore. Friesian: I would, but I cant see anything from behind all this mane. Belgian: Put the Shetland on my back, maybe he can reach it then. Warmblood: Is the 2nd Level Instruction Packet in English? Doesnt anyone realize that I was sold for $75K as a yearling, but only because my hocks are bad, otherwise I would be worth $100K? I am NOT changing lightbulbs. Make the TB get back here and do it. Morgan: Me! Me! Me! Pleeease let me! I wanna do it! Im gonna do it! I know how, really I do! Just watch! Ill rewire the barn after, too. Appaloosa: Yall are a bunch of losers. We dont need to change the lightbulb, I aint scared of the dark. And someone make that darn Morgan stop jumping up and down before I double barrel him. Haflinger: That thing I ate was a lightbulb? Mustang: Lightbulb? Lets go on a trail ride, instead. And camp, out in the open, under the stars, like REAL horses. Lipizzaner: Hah, amateurs. I will change the lightbulb. Not only that, but I will do it while standing on my hind legs and balancing it on my nose, after which I will perform seven flying lead changes in a row and a capriole. Can you do that? Huh? Huh? Didnt think so. Miniature: I bet you think I cant do it just cause Im small. You know what that is? Its sizeism! Akhal Teke: I will only change it if its my owners lightbulb and no one else has ever touched it. Andalusian: I will delegate the changing of the lightbulb to my personal groom after he finishes shampooing my mane and cleaning my saddle, but only on the condition that it is changed for a soft blue or green bulb, which reflects better off my coat while I exhibit my astonishing gaits. Cleveland Bay: Im busy. Make the whipper-in and the hounds do it. Saddlebred: My ears are up already, please, please, get the lightbulb away from me! Im ready to show, really, I promise Ill win! Paint: Put all the lightbulbs in a pen, tell me which one you want, and my owner will bet you twenty bucks I can get it before the quarter horse. Welsh: Im not changing it. Im the one who kicked the old one and broke it in the first place, remember? Now, excuse me, I have a feed shed to break into. Clydesdale: Guys? Um, guys? I hope you dont mind, but I went ahead and changed it while you were all arguing.

09.01.2022 BELLA update again, for those of you who have been watching her progress (previous post on my personal page) Bella now self loads she is still scared, still trembles occasionally but she tries so hard to be brave and do what is asked of her and you cant ask for more than that Bellas fears are very deep set, she will always need special care and handling, but we couldnt be more proud of her ... For those of you wondering, if you didnt read my previous post, this was training session # 5, about 20 mins each, over about 10 days, she has loaded every time but this time was her best, easiest, calmest self load, huge improvement for her With consistent, firm, calm training and lots of reward and praise all horses will try to do their best for you Float loading is one of the most dangerous things we do with horses and I cant emphasize enough how important float training is
09.01.2022 The job our fire fighters, the ariel support and everyone who attends the fires is absolutely incredible and they cannot be thanked enough

If anyone would like copies of the checklists handed out please message me or email me too [email protected] But most importantly HAPPY SHOWING & just remember to ENJOY playing with your ponies whatever you are doing.
03.01.2022 This horse is too clever not to share
03.01.2022 I just replied to a post on another page and thought I'd share it here too I spend so much time explaining to people that you don't need to feed sooo many pellets and soooo many additives!!!! KISS KEEP IT SIMPLE ... Feed roughage plus grain & vitamins if needed Or feed one pellet which is supposed to be an overall feed plus the required roughage Horses need lots of roughage, they need hay to wear their teeth, they need roughage to help digest the grain or pellets Then if needed for specific cases you add a supplement be it vitamins or herb or whatever it is your horse needs Please people save yourself a fortune and keep your feeds simple, horses have delicate digestive systems, they need simple feeds. There are some brilliant comments in this post, thank you everyone who is feeding your precious horses well
02.01.2022 Ssoooo soooo true
