I cannot think of anyone more worthy - not only for their 40+ year contribution to Ballarat's Riding For The Disabled program, but for the support they continue to offer youngsters from the region who gravitate to their trail riding school at Warrenheip. 08.01.2022 STUDENT OF THE WEEK Shouting out to Warrnambool based student Maria Serra. As her instructor I am humbled by her feedback. Wins like she details below, prove that she's a great student! Maria has owned her 16 year old, off the track Thoroughbred 'Sunny' for eight years and it's been wonderful to watch her develop as a partner for the handsome boy. She is committed to her development as a rider, with her fit-to-ride exercises off the horse, regular lessons and dedicating the... time for consistent schooling! The message I am sharing with you below says everything about her and the fact that she's been skilling up. From Maria "Hey today when I was riding Sunny he decided he didn't want to trot and kept going straight to canter and was really cracking it when I stopped him. But after about 40 minutes he finally trotted nicely. I just wanted to say a massive thank you for giving me the confidence to be able to deal with his tantrum and work through it without getting anxious! Victoria conveyed numerous key transformational takeouts and coupled with a delicious lunch and friendly participants, it made for a terrific day out.
