23.01.2022 Hi everyone, Just a quick update on me. I will be away for a week from Monday the 5th Oct - Saturday 10th Oct for some school holiday fun with my family ... Next week is very close to fully booked, but I do have a few spots available for the week after.
23.01.2022 Today was Harry’s turn for a massage. This young boy had his first comp on the weekend and did amazing! It’s safe to say he definitely earned his massage, and he clearly enjoyed it
23.01.2022 One of the main reasons people call me to see their horse is because they have noticed pain in their horses back. This pain can show in different forms, from behavioural under saddle, flinching when brushing / patting or lumps / bumps across their back. A good habit to get into is checking your horses back at least once week.... The best way to check the muscles of their back is by running a flat hand over the length of the muscle just below the spin and above the ribs with slight pressure. Feel for any heat, bumps, lumps, tightness, or flinching of the muscles. If these signs are showing contact me so we can improve this.
22.01.2022 Three days later and the tape is going strong!!!
22.01.2022 Have you heard the saying no hoof no horse? I can not agree with this say enough. When I come out and see any horse I always look at their feet. Their feet tell us so much about them and where they could be struggling. I love chatting about feet and how they effect their whole body and movements.... Let’s make chatting about feet more common, don’t be afraid/worried to also chat to your hoof care professional and know as much as you can about your horses feet.
22.01.2022 Does your horse have a prophets thumbprint? Did you know some people say that horses with a prophets thumbprint are considered to be ‘special’, as they are thought the be descendants of one of the 5 mares marked by the prophet Mohammed for being loyal and brave. Show me your horses prophets thumbprint
21.01.2022 Carrot stretches are a great way increase your horses range of motion

19.01.2022 Today Nash got a fancy behind A little EquiTape to help bring blood to an area of localised swelling. He had no heat or pain, slightly lame/off in this left hind but not much else. I chose this tape to help reduce the swelling and heal the area so Nash can be back in action ASAP.
18.01.2022 Best seat in the stable on a rainy day!!!
17.01.2022 Big Congratulations to delightful Isabelle and the biggest sweetheart Jumbi on their fantastic results at Alexander Park Dressage. You two and a stunning team!!!
16.01.2022 Have you ever heard the saying, no hoof no horse?? Well I 100% believe this to be true!!! When I go and see a horse I always start by looking at their feet and chatting about hoof care. It is really important to have a good relationship with your horses hoof care provider and if you have concerns chat to them. When a horses hoof is not balanced or over due or even over trimmed this has ongoing effects on their body!... Don’t be worried to speak up and chat to your hoof care provider, at the end of the day we all want the best for all horses Ps seriously how cute are these tiny heart bar shoes
15.01.2022 Sea Stitch is an absolutely stunning boy!!! He loved his treatment today and I can’t wait to be following along with him!

10.01.2022 Have you ever wondered how a float trip can effect your horse? Will comps and training happening all over our state and country. Our horses spend a lot of time in the road. This takes a lot of planing to ensure your horse arrives at its destination in the best condition. Travelling in a float or on a truck can be a big physical change for our horses and we need to remember that any travel over 2-3 hours the horse needs a break, this can include pulling over in a save space and giving your horse a break from the movement. Any travel above 6 hours needs to include a break plan and potentially a spot over where the horse can come off the float.
10.01.2022 Spending some time with the kids these holiday and we went to a motor bike museum. And this was in the wall
10.01.2022 Horses of all ages and all walks of life benefit from regular massage. A horse is never too young to start getting massaged. When I work with young horses i make sure I have extra time as they often need breaks during the treatment. I let them guide me where they need the treatment most but most importantly I make sure it is a positive experience.
09.01.2022 Yay the 1st of Dec is here!!! Christmas is my favourite time of year! So to start off the festive feels here is Ruby and Ninja showing their Christmas spirit
09.01.2022 Did you know that back pain can cause issue further along in your horses body? When your horse has a sore back they may find it hard to to work in a correct frame as they may not be able to work from their hind quarters. This can also cause weakness in their core as they disengage to ease the tension in their back. Equine Massage, Red light therapy and Equi-Tape can help ease this tension and get everyone back to reaching their goals.
08.01.2022 Merry Christmas everyone! Thank you for making 2020 one of the best years for Horse in Hand. I am so grateful to everyone for supporting me in supporting your horses. Helping to ensure their body is feeling good and ready can be key. ... Id love to chat about your goals and how i can help.

05.01.2022 Hi everyone, I’m Michelle from Horse in Hand - Equine Sports Therapy. There are many new faces on her I thought I’d say a quick hi and let everyone know a little about me. I’ve been a certified equine massage therapist for almost 5 years. I’ve been involved with horse for as long as I can remember. I started riding when I was little and living in Denmark (where I was born) and continued my love of horses after I moved to Australia with my family ... I really have a big passion for equine massage and how it benefits all horses at all stages of their life. Over the years I have loved adding to my skills and I love combining my skills to benefit horses and being a part of their well being. Ps: total photo credit to Mia, who totally made this selfie amazing

02.01.2022 Say cheese!!!! Let’s have a quick chat about teeth! Most of us know that you can estimate a horses age by it’s teeth.... But do you know how often you should have a qualified equine dentist out to check your horses teeth? Well depending on their age, on average your horse should see the dentist once a year. Horses teeth continue to grow through out their life. They also chew their food in a circular motion which leads to grinding of their teeth. Over time this grinding causes sharp edges on their teeth. This can lead to mouth ulcers, cuts, food impaction and cause issues for the horse when they have a bit in their mouth. If you are unsure when your horse last had its teeth looked at, book in your equine dentist for a check up

01.01.2022 When should you get your horse/s massaged?? Most people would say when your horse feels tight or when you feel your horse is not right. I would say, you should have your horse/s regularly massaged (every 4-6 weeks) to prevent the tightness, soreness, shortened steps and maintain regular well being.... Just as we have our horses feet in a set schedule, we should also have our horses massages on a regular schedule.
