25.01.2022 adrianos pump fuel 420 SBC street engine on the dyno yesterday, runs well and makes all the right noises and good numbers for a genuine street strip package, 740hp on pulp 98 and 755hp on unleaded race fuel peak power at 7400 rpm, theres a little more left with a more aggressive tune up but very happy with the results, perfect for the customers weekend cruiser

24.01.2022 intake manifold match port and runner port work completed and flow tested

24.01.2022 still on pre assembly checks....setting up rocker geometry and checking PTV, when everything is a tight squeeze we check piston to valve clearance with checking spring vs actual springs

23.01.2022 results are in for the 381 cube holden, whats impressive about this engine is it is a true pump 98 street/strip engine, more compression and a more aggressive camshaft would see even further gains over what is a good all round package, valve train is nice and stable to 8000 rpm with only 560lbs open pressure meaning lifter life will be increased over what we would normally see with race roller cams and high spring pressures, big thanks to aaron tremayne for professional dyno tuning service a pleasure to deal with, also big thanks the george from racemax for sending us a heap of APD jets for dyno testing and john from Jet engineering for making out pushrods on short notice 675hp 518tq on pump 98 708hp 545tq race tune on ms109

23.01.2022 2 more Crane custom grind solid roller cams arrived for 381 cube holden and 420 cube SBC engine builds

23.01.2022 adrianos engine on dyno, 7200 rpm pull.....pump up the volume

23.01.2022 420 SBC dart block prep near completion, block clearance ground, detailed and deburred, ARP stud kit fitted and main tunnel line honed, bored and torque plate honed, lifter bores honed to suit isky roller lifters, dummy assembled and deck heights measured ready for decking, for a current engine build

22.01.2022 some more progress on the 420 SBC block painted, final detail work done, cam bearings fitted, rods pin fit honed, break sharp edges from parting lines, final washed and big end and main bearing clearances measured with a combination of different shells to determine final clearance, and file/set ring gaps, just waiting on camshaft then ready for assembly

22.01.2022 If your in sth east Queensland and you are looking for some construction training look these guys up

21.01.2022 pro-paw plennum entry modified to take one of our custom made CNC spacers, drilled and tapped for rear water cross over with swivel Y block and flow tested

21.01.2022 the 420 sbc on a 7800rpm pull

21.01.2022 just an update on some of the projects i have been working on, just finished building this 372cube holden engine with early style TP223cnc ported heads with some hand finishing work, CSR 3.650 crank, ported TP single plane, solid street roller camshaft, extensive oiling system modifications, built as a street engine to run on pulp 98 fuel with occasional club circuit racing, engine was built to be reliable with a target of 550+hp the Torque Power early heads now take the early stye holden engine builds into the next level of performance in line with what was only previously available with a VN style cylinder head

20.01.2022 some pre assembly checks including dialing in camshaft at various positions and checking camshaft to connecting rod clearance, then machining a small amount off the rods at the right angle to give us min safe clearance, this is how it rolls when maximising base circle diameter in small block chevs with decent size cams

20.01.2022 Holden 372 and 380 blocks dummy assembled and measure deck heights before machining decks, note differences in block rod and stroke combos, the 3.75 stroke with oliver rods and factory stoker block required very little clearance grinding compared to the 3.650 crank with regular H beam and non factory stroker block required lots of grinding, we even machine a chamfer on the rod bolts to avoid going into water, being from a previous build this crank has holden journals making rod selection limited compared to chev journal cranks

20.01.2022 mock up and match port holden intake

18.01.2022 AFR chamber repair

18.01.2022 381 cube holden going together, this one was also designed to do lots of street kays so soft camshaft lobes are utilised along with light valve spring pressures to extend roller lifter lifespan, designed for street use whilst producing low 10sec full street trim 1/4 mile ets on pump fuel, some nice parts in this engine all based on producing good power and reliability

16.01.2022 without a doubt the smallest cylinder we have ever tested on this flow bench

15.01.2022 HPE would like to thank our customers and friends for your continued support and hope everyone had a good and safe break over the christmas/new year holidays........sure feels good to be back on the tools firing on all cylinders after the longest stint i have had from working in over 15 years , feels good to be engineering horsepower again

14.01.2022 SBC 18 deg intake for current engine project

14.01.2022 blending seat to port/chamber transition and mill head to desired chamber volume....burr finish intake port

13.01.2022 some vid of the 381 holden on the dyno, hats off to aaron tremayne for operating the dyno console one handed while taking video at the same time

13.01.2022 another vid of the little holden

12.01.2022 bit of australia day W2 mopar action

11.01.2022 when only the best will do....CHE the best quality in the buisiness, thanks Dean Fonte for getting these to us real quick on short notice and offering 2nd to none customer service

09.01.2022 brodix 11X head work completed after fixing some bad cnc port work

08.01.2022 more pre assembly checks, check pushrod clearance in various areas and rectify

08.01.2022 checking rocker geometry with jessel shaft rocker system and various valve lengths before ordering valves and springs for a current engine build

06.01.2022 pump fuel 420 chev ready for dyno, i added a few pics showing some of the smaller processes required with custom engines, nothing fits out of the box and most parts require modification and or small components to be manufactured to suit inc custom made gaskets etc all part of a complex and expensive jigsaw puzzle that makes really cool sounds

05.01.2022 thanks George from Racemax, these billet APD carbs are nice quality components both for current engine combos

05.01.2022 372 finished off and dyno tested pretty happy with the outcome for what was intended to be a true pulp 98 street engine designed to be docile enough to rack up plenty of street miles and cruising with a 5 spd manual and yet powerful enough to blow the tyres off with a stab of the throttle, this is by no means set on kill mode and shows the potential that can now be achieved with an early head platform, made 590HP 482lbs TQ on pulp 98 with pacemaker 1 3/4 tri ys mech water pump and 1 spacer, some race fuel was tipped in but due to limited time the tune up wasnt able to be optimised, made 595HP and 490TQ mega rich showing this would be a 600+Hp combo with a little more tuning as we would normally see 15-20 numbers better on race fuel but due to the fact this will never see race fuel we called it good enough

05.01.2022 Hey guys, just thought we should let everyone know due to some rather unfortunate circumstances i have had to go in for surgery last night and will be out of action for at least 3-4 weeks.....2018 has been hard on the body so lets hope thats the last of the operations out of the road for a long time, operation went well and am resting up at home so sorry if u have been trying to contact us in the last few days.....the last operation we had 12 months to plan in advance this one i had 12days which were pretty hectic to get done what had to be done, in the meantime i will try and dig out some of the other things we have been doing and post some of those things

03.01.2022 the owner made up a timing pointer bracket to suit this particular diameter balancer as you can see the shelf item is too far away making accurate timing measurement impossible, i think it turned out good for a hand made piece, we also set it up with piston stop and adjusted it to the correct location

03.01.2022 sbc dart block hot and soapy final wash....thanks dan corlett for helping out

03.01.2022 just a quick update on the holden 381, it was run up on the dyno and tuned yesterday producing great results, 675hp/519tq on pump 98 and 707hp/537tq on ms109, 2 sets of headers and carb spacers were tested as well......more details tomorrow

02.01.2022 terrys angry little holden 310 cuber on the dyno today making 566hp 414tq on unleaded race fuel pulling nice and clean to 8100rpm, cast iron hand ported VNs roller cam etc built to run on pulp fuel we ran this on pulp 98 a few months ago and it made over 535hp, brian from exhaust inovations made us a nice set of custom tri ys with some custom fastlane cnc header flanges, this was originally a 500-525hp build but we overshot the mark a little bit lol

01.01.2022 oil distribution manifolds for holden 372 and 380 engine builds, machined on our manual mill
