20.01.2022 The Shrine of Remembrance is a beacon of red, starting the Red to Remember lighting program in the lead up to Remembrance Day - Wednesday 11 November. Ten of Me...lbourne's leading cultural and civic buildings will form the Avenue of Red from St Kilda Road along Swantson Street to Rathdowne Street Carlton in honour of all veterans. Also, to the Wimmera Community for supporting our Poppy Appeal and to the many Local Business’s assisting our Badge sales with Appeal Boxes in their stores. You’ll find our Poppy Appeal Stalls at Coles, Kmart Plaza, Australia Post, Horsham Newsagency and the Commonwealth Bank. 15.01.2022 The RSL’s Poppy Appeal is an annual fundraising activity that Sub-Branches across the nation take on in the lead up to Remembrance Day each year. Every dollar raised through the Poppy Appeal will go to supporting veterans and their families with a range of RSL health and wellbeing support services, including relief from financial hardship. Donations to the Horsham R.S.L. 10.01.2022 Tomorrow, Wednesday 11 November, we commemorate Remembrance Day and pause to remember the men and women who never made their journey home from wars, conflicts and peace operations. There will be no service at the Horsham Cenotaph, however, individuals and organisations are welcome to lay wreaths and pay respects. 08.01.2022 Our Committee, Management and Staff look forward to welcoming back old friends and new on Monday the 9th of November from 10am. All Venue services will be in operation and takeaway meals and free home delivery will be on offer as well. Our Venue capacity as per current restrictions are 40 indoors and we can seat 5 outdoors in our Alfresco area. Masks are mandatory and lunch/dinner booking strongly advisable. Meal times are limited to one-hour blocks with a maximum of 10 pe...ople per table booking. 01.01.2022 Being an RSL member for many is a passion, privilege and a way for individuals to support their local Sub-Branch and their work in supporting veterans in the co...mmunity. RSL Victoria administers, in conjunction with its 277 Sub-Branches, have 5 different categories of membership, these being Life, Service, Affiliate, Social and Community memberships. In 2019 saw the RSL Victoria Sub-Branch network reach new heights in membership numbers with 203,003 Victorians joining their local RSL in support of veteran and their families. The first time the RSL has reached over 200,000 members in its history! Most importantly the numbers concerned saw an increase in the number of Service members joining their local RSL, something that has not be achieved in decades, where we are proud that our Sub-Branch network is enrapturing the modern veteran and their families with its local presence, community support and veteran services locally. We thank all our RSL members for their continued support especially during this tough period in 2020! We can’t wait for our Sub-Branch network and its members to unite again within their local Branches and continue this success story into the future.
