04.01.2022 Horsham Spring Garden Festival raffle tickets are being sold today the 1st of October 2017 at the Horsham Show under the grand stand.
03.01.2022 The Horsham Spring Garden Festival needs your help. This wonderful event, running for more than 30 years, may not be able to continue. I am sure that yo are all aware that, whilst we get some great support on the day from Horsham community groups, the committee itself has dwindled down to just a handful. No exaggeration. I am not really one to ask for help, but after taking the position of Secretary for the event, my wife was diagnosed with breast cancer, just years after a ...hard fought battle with non-hodgkins lymphoma. And it takes its toll. Our small nursery business has had to wind back as our focus is on family and health. This will limit my availability to assist running the festival. This would normally not be a community problem, but this will take 20% of the workforce out of hosting this event. And planning and executing the Festival is no small fete. The structure is there, with lists on what needs doing when, so it is not like I am asking for people to jump on board at start from scratch, but we do need help. Plans are already underway, and this years event plans to incorporate a new element of outdoor lifestyle, so to interest both the gardener and outdoor enthusiast. We have also chosen that rather than bringing in a guest speaker from out of the region, we will be providing more "Local" knowledge with an increased number of presentations and displays to help the experienced and new gardeners out there. We also hope to continue with the spinning wheel, which last year offered over $2000 in free give-aways over the weekend. The next meeting will be held on Monday, 4th of June, at the Whitehart Hotel meeting rooms on Firebrace street. Please help our family, and your community. 03.01.2022 STOP THE PRESS!! The 2018 Horsham Spring Garden Festival will now be on OCTOBER 20th to 21st. Even after 30 years, the HRCC gave our weekend away.... Yes surely they would have significant events of the shire pencilled in on the calendar to avoid this type of blunder. After careful and considered analysis, and working with the exhibitors, the committee has made the decision to run the week later for 2018. It isnt all bad news. It will give all of the gardeners out there an extra week to prepare their gardens for their purchases. So, change the dates in your diary, and prepare yourselves for another huge event.
