10.01.2022 Dear Parents and Carers, Horsley Park PS will be commencing Peer Support lessons this week. The whole school will participate in Peer Support for 30 minutes every fortnight. Two Peer leaders will facilitate a small group of 8-10 younger students, who will work together through a number of structured activities. Each teacher will supervise a group in their classroom. We are working on a module called Keeping Friends helping us explore... the concept of friendship, build relationships and develop skills in empathy and critical thinking. Our first session will enable the children to get to know everyone in their group, agreeing on how they will work together and interact cooperatively with others. They will also begin to think about the meaning of friendship. We encourage you to talk to your children about Peer Support each fortnight as it will help to reinforce the concepts learned in each session. Please look out for updates as we progress through. Thank you Horsley Park PS Team See more

01.01.2022 Weekend Fire at HPPS. I would like to inform our school community that this afternoon at approximately 3.30 pm I received a call from the local police to say that there was a fire inside one of the rooms in the school. The fire brigade was notified to put out a fire in Block A. The fire was in the (tech room). Luckily for us the fire was contained to the one room and our school continues to be open as per normal. The cause of the fire at this time is under investigation with... NSW Police and NSW Fire Service. Nobody was harmed and no technology equipment was damaged. The fire was not caused by any foul play and it may have been caused by an electrical fault. Additionally; our school has been under some major construction over the past few weeks. So when our students return to school we will be able to enjoy new facilities such as new playground equipment, new roofing, a new ramp access to promote inclusive accessibility into our school hall and a brand new disabled bathroom/toilet. If you have any questions please contact the school office. Kind Regards Anica Tanevski R/Principal
