25.01.2022 Breynia nivosa rosea is an attractive and hardy foliage plant with distinct pink, white and green variegated foliage that have a mottled appearance and are ovately shaped. The highly ornamental foliage makes a colourful addition to any garden setting, particularly when planted en masse to create a distinctive hedge or when used as a feature plant in pots and containers. Nivosa rosea prefers a sunny to partly shaded position in warm, humid conditions with moist, well drained soil. Protect from frost. For best results water regularly and apply a complete fertiliser during the spring growing period. Breynia nivosa rosea will grow to a height of 1.2m and a width of 1m.

25.01.2022 Grevillea baileyana - White Oak/Brown Silky Oak is a beautiful, large, glossy foliage with a rusty tinge to the undersurface is complemented by sprays of honey-scented cream coloured flowers in summer. It is a medium to large tree that can grow well as far south as Melbourne and right up to north Queensland. Use it as a feature tree that can provide cut foliage and flowers for indoor use. It is virtually maintenance free, but be aware that the roots can be invasive, so do not plant near pipes or drainage fixtures. Available in 250mm pots.

23.01.2022 Beautiful Philodendron Rojo Congo now available. A hardy and robust growing Philodendron with thick, glossy burgundy to green leaves with a compact clumping habit. Named Rojo meaning red, due to the juvenile shoots and leaves starting out a deep red colour. An ideal low maintenance, understorey plant and perfect for your indoor space.

23.01.2022 Plectranthus'Mona Lavender' is a quick-growing, herbaceous, perennial shrub reaching up to 0.75 m in height, forming a lovely, rounded, dense bush. It has dark green, glossy leaves with intensely purple undersides and sprays of lavender flowers dashed with purple markings. It flowers throughout the warmer months of the year. Prune every 6 months or so and regular liquid fertiliser will keep the plant looking amazing. Available in 140mm pots.

22.01.2022 Tipuana tipu is a native of South America. This stunning ornamental is a fast growing, deciduous shade tree, of beautiful lacy light green foliage and masses of bright apricot-yellow flowers that are displayed briefly in Summer. Widely used in lawns, carparks, gardens and as street trees, Tipuana will grow nearly anywhere in Australia, can adapt to most soil types and is tolerant to drought, frost and beachside conditions. Tipuana tipu can grow to a height of up to 20 metres and a width of 12 metres. Available now in 140mm pots.

21.01.2022 Eucalyptus Summer Sensation is now in stock at Horticultural Touch. The large yellow-green flower heads of Summer Scentsation produce a spectacular summer display across the Christmas to early autumn period, and the attractive perfume adds a heady touch to the festive season. The shiny grey-green leaves are a bright contrast to darker foliage even when not in flower, and the clean trunk supports this small tree of 4-6 m high x 3-4 m wide. Available in 140mm pots.

20.01.2022 Kauri Pine - Agathis robusta is now available in 140mm pots. Native Queensland pine with glossy wide leaves unlike typical conifers, and giant green cones as big as oranges. Very tall slender upright habit. Tropical origins but happy in southern states. Historically prized and heavily logged for its richly-coloured timber; sadly few old-growth stands remain. Lovely in formal gardens, wildlife gardens, or as feature tree where it has the space to shine. Best suited for large properties or acreage.

19.01.2022 Cordyline Negra has wonderful dark chocolate foliage making it. A fantastic contrasting plant or feature. Can grow in full sun to shade and will reach heights of 3 metres if let go. Available in 200mm pots.

19.01.2022 Backhousia citriodora Lemon Myrtle available in 300mm pots. Not only is this plant one of the best bush foods, it is also a beautiful ornamental with its glossy green aromatic leaves and fluffy white flowerheads. Whilst it is capable of growing into a small to medium sized tree, it can be kept as a shrub through regular pruning of the growing tips. This also serves to harvest the plant for its culinary uses for flavouring all sorts of dishes. Plant in a sunny spot with well drained soil and feed and water regularly during the warmer months to give yourself plenty of shoots. A rainforest tree from north NSW and south Queensland. Can take light frosts, but foliage will be damaged.

18.01.2022 Melicope elleryana Pink Euodia is a fast growing rainforest tree with masses of pink flowers along the branches in summer, attracting many species of birds and butterflies. The euodia is the host tree for the UIlysses butterfly and may flower when only a year old. Available in 140mm pots. Limited stock available.

17.01.2022 Cupaniopsis anarcardiodes Tuckeroo available now in 200mm pots. The tuckeroo is a useful small tree for coastal plantings in warm areas. It has attractive glossy green large leaves, smooth grey bark, and a spreading crown shape, making it a good shade and street tree. It has green-yellow flowers in spring followed by decorative orange-yellow seed pods in summer. A good low maintenance plant rarely troubled by pests or disease. There is a number of these planted in the shopping centre beside the nursery.

15.01.2022 Philodendron Congo is an extremely durable and low maintenance indoor plant with beautiful, large, glossy green leaves that will create a tropical feel in your indoor or outdoor space. Not only stunning this bold plant will clean and purify the air. Ideal for both high and low light spots, although keep away from direct sunlight. Clean the large leaves with a damp cloth. 140mm pots $12.50.

15.01.2022 Tibouchina Peace Baby is now in stock. Peace Baby is one of the most compact forms of Tibouchina currently available, and is a stand out performer in gardens across the country. Large, clear white flowers with pink stamens adorn the plant throughout the warmer months providing stunning colour for entertaining areas. The bright vibrant flowers are significant both in size and in the number produced per plant, not uncommonly covering parts of the plant to the point that foliage is difficult to see. A dense and compact variety well suited to pots and containers. This variety is easy to grow. Grows approx 60cm tall x 80cm wide.

14.01.2022 London Plane - Platanus x acerifolia is a large deciduous tree growing 2030 m, with a trunk up to 3 m or more in circumference. The bark is usually pale grey-green, smooth and exfoliating, or buff-brown and not exfoliating. The leaves are thick and stiff-textured, broad, palmately lobed, superficially maple-like, the leaf blade 1020 cm long and 1225 cm broad, with a petiole 310 cm long. The young leaves in spring are coated with minute, fine, stiff hairs at first, but t...hese wear off and by late summer the leaves are hairless or nearly so. The flowers are borne in one to three (most often two) dense spherical inflorescences on a pendulous stem, with male and female flowers on separate stems. The fruit matures in about 6 months, to 23 cm diameter, and comprises a dense spherical cluster of achenes with numerous stiff hairs which aid wind dispersal; the cluster breaks up slowly over the winter to release the numerous 23 mm seeds. The London Plane is one of the most efficient trees in removing small particulate pollutants in urban areas. Available now in 300mm pots. See more

14.01.2022 Fraxinus griffithii is a fast growing, drought tolerant, attractive tree has leaves that are green and shiny on the top and hairy silver coloured underneath. They are oval shaped with pointy tips. The flowers appear in panicles, are white and borne in spring. Tolerates a wide range of conditions but performs best in moist, well drained soils with full sun. Requires little maintenance after established but will need some water in extended dry periods. In stock now in 140mm pots.

14.01.2022 Populus deltoides - Cottonwood is an excellent deciduous farm tree, quick growing and can tolerate most soil types. Does not drop branches and retains leaf to ground level. Ideal for avenues, windbreaks and shade. Well adapted to a wide range of climates. Autumn colours are a deep golden.

A small to medium tree, native to coastal areas of Australia, South East Asia and the South Pacific, this species is very well suited to coastal environments as it tolerates salinity and waterlogging, and can grow in a variety of coastal sands and soils. It is a great plant for many situations, particularly where other plants may not thrive. Perfect as a windbreak, shade plant or screen in coastal areas as it can bear the full brunt of salt an...d exposure. It can also be grown in poorly draining soils and with bore water. A fast growing tree, it is great for landscaping and can be made into a bonsai. Pruning is necessary to achieve desired size and shape. Sports handsome dark green foliage and blooms prolifically with bright yellow flowers in summer. This plant has a variety of uses. The wood is used for boats, as firewood and as carving wood. The plant is popular for bonsai in Taiwan and other Asian countries. The leaves are used for fermenting soy into tempeh in Indonesia, and young shoots are eaten as a vegetable. See more

10.01.2022 Brand new release - Tulbaghia Ashanti Pearl. A tough grass like plant growing to approximately 40cm high. Tulbaghia Ashanti Pearl has attractive silvery green foliage creating year round interest and contrast to the garden. From late Spring, baby pink flower buds open to reveal lovely white star shaped flowers. Tulbaghia Ashanti Pearl makes a fantastic border plant and looks great in mixed plantings and decorative pots; the flowers and foliage are edible and make a nice peppery garnish for salads.

07.01.2022 Chinese Star Jasmine is an evergreen, twining, woody vine with small, glossy green leaves and clusters of highly fragrant, star-like white flowers that cover the plant from Summer to Autumn. Will grow and flower in full sun to total shade and requires a well drained, fertile soil and moderate water. Drought tolerant once established but it is wise to maintain soil moisture during Summer months. Dislikes wet feet. Tolerates a broad range of temperatures from tropical to cool temperate, withstanding light frost. Commonly used as a groundcover, particularly on banks, but will climb any trees, cables or open structures that it strikes. Very effective when trained on pillars, pergolas and arches. Prune to maintain size and use a slow release fertiliser in Spring. Can be cut back hard if necessary.

An attractive groundcover with the ability to pop up amongst other plants in your garden, and in tight spaces such as path edges and between rocks. For most of the year it’ll bloom with delicate pink flowers, striped with deep magenta. They’re sweetly scented, butterfly attracting, and make a lovely cut flower. Plant in a container or hanging basket to enjoy their beauty. This plant can also be a living mulch as it’s hardy enough to cope with full sun and thereby keep the soil cooler for other plants. It’s shallow rooted so it’s easy to remove some runners and plant them elsewhere if wanted.Thriving in dry to moist soils, and performs best in cool temperate to semi-arid climates.
