25.01.2022 Each year the WA Beer & Beef Club - Perth generously invests in supporting an Apprentice Chef in their difficult first year of training by funding a scholarship through Hospitality Group Training. The Club covers all of the TAFE fees for a selected apprentice for 12 months while they are finding their feet in the kitchen. Employers are already investing their time in training and mentoring a new apprentice so this financial support provides invaluable assistance to the emplo...yer. Additionally the winning apprentice recipient gains an increased level of confidence by being considered a worthy recipient of this investment. Eligible apprentices are required to apply for the scholarship and are interviewed by representatives from The Beer and Beef Club - Perth to determine their passion and culinary dreams for the hospitality industry. The lucky winner of the 2020 competition is Abigail Kemp, hosted by Herdsman Lake-Tavern. Abigail impressed the judges with her maturity, determination to succeed and her goals for the future. Watch this space as Abi embarks on her career as a chef, certainly big things to come from this young chef.
