20.01.2022 Have you ever grabbed the little roller and gone to town on your forearms?? Chances are no for many of you. BUT!! ... give it a try!! Releasing that excess tension in your flexors & extensors allows the biceps & delts a little more play. It feels bloody awesome!! I've done this using the cardboard from a roll of cling wrap/foil also - so you don't need to crap on about "I don't have a roller" - use your cling wrap, then just discard the outer layer Perfect for anyone who types all day drives all day chops using knives all day (ex chef Dan knows a thing or two about that!) spends all day messaging or scrolling (- say 99% of you!!) 14.01.2022 As the new year kicks in, there's always venues looking for new staff as the seasonal brigades move on, Xmas closures reopen and staff just decide they can't go through another Christmas like they have- so here's a few simple ways to get the best staff, with less stress to you and your team. 4 tips for getting the best applicant's 1) Describe the role the business needs filled - leave out any fluff or previous"problems" with staff, good applicant's will see your business as t...he issue, not the previous employees that you're trying to target in your advertising 2) What are you offering to your staff? What's the culture you've created & how are you going to create a work lifestyle for your employees, what is it that makes your business the perfect place for them to enter into a long & prosperous working relationship with your business - in a world where good staff can be difficult to come by, great staff are even more rare, you need to make sure you're selling to applicant's from the moment they read your advert, to the way your website & Facebook read then into the first contact, interview then trials, so be honest, good applicant's will see through fake facades & bullshit 3) People don't leave bad jobs, they leave bad managers, right from the start, you need to ensure that whoever is going to be in control of the onboarding, interviewing & hiring process is the right person for the job. The right questions need to be asked and the right process should be followed. 4) Invest in the onboarding, you're investing in your business and that shows that you're serious. It's easy to get a cook or waiter in for a "free" trial, they fluff about for 2 hours in a poorly run business, then a manager says yes or no, thanks and we'll call you tomorrow. Onboarding takes energy, it takes effort, management, leadership & training along with skill & an understanding of workplace law It's not something that 99% of employees, managers or owners actually have any training or real knowledge of. The learn as you go method of HR is where businesses fail & hemorrhage dollars on recruitment. If you've taken the time to reduce the 100 applications down to 3, then now's the time to show them that you're Invested in your business. Bring them in for a weekend or even a week of training, all of them, see who rises to the challenge once they've gotten over the first day nerves. The cream rises to the top.
