On 17 February 2020, the Australian Government announced that Working Holiday Visa holders (Subclass 417 and Subclass 462 visa holders) will be able to count paid or volunteer bushfire recovery work as 'specified work'. Also, the time you can work with the same employer has been extended from six months to 12 months if you are assisting with bushfire recovery efforts.... HOW THIS AFFECTS YOU: Paid AND volunteer disaster recovery work in declared areas impacted will count towards the specified work needed to apply for a second or third year Subclass 417 or Subclass 462 visa.
