24.01.2022 Another experiment for Science Week! All that you need is a plate of skittles, any colour is fine! Place them around the edge of the plate (like video below) and white is best so you can see colour mixing. Slowly pour enough water in the middle of the dish until it just covers the skittles and wait for the magic to happen! ... Junior Kindy Scientists!

23.01.2022 Professional Development Recently we have completed our Child Protection Training with In Safe Hands Training. We completed this training with Wonderkids Early Learning (our sister centre) in Walkerston. We again had a amazing platter for us to enjoy on the night!

19.01.2022 Technology We have been lucky enough to get a new age Interactive Whiteboard to use in all rooms of our centre. So far Kindy have been exploring everything it can do! Technology help children develop language skills. Many types of language development technology offer multisensory engagement, which offers speed and support to the learning process. Technology provides basic skills in which children must have competency in order to be successful in school; skills critical for children to then engage successfully in higher order thinking and applied learning. It promotes school readiness and cognitive development. Although, too much screen time can be harmful for children. We are only using our board for educational opportunities throughout the day. 18.01.2022 Christmas In July (Thank you John) Who loves new resources? I know we do!!!! We have received lots of fun, new resources for our centre! We will be busy playing and making sure we respect these new resources!! How amazing is the home corner set up! Can you spot the handmade placemats? Miss Hana our not only amazing cook but also our amazing sewer has made us these super cute placemats for our new home corner!!

18.01.2022 Welcoming our new arrivals! Junior Kindy has been experiencing baby play, this interest has stemmed from families welcoming new babies recently. We are learning to care for them by feeding, wrapping and bathing babies during the day. We are practicing our gentle hands and soft voices to calm our dolls and babies at home. 09.01.2022 What an exciting morning for our Kindy friends! We were finally able to attend the performance of The Gruffalo’s Child at the MECC, something we have waited nearly all year for! After a short but exciting bus ride to the Entertainment Centre, we found our seats and the show began. It was amazing and the children loved the singing and being able to interact with show as well! Thanks to our parent helpers and Miss Hana for preparing a yummy snack for us. A great morning was had by all!

05.01.2022 One of our Kindy friends, Adinda, kindly gave our class three passion fruit plants! Today we decided to plant them in our garden. Miss Narelle told the Kindy children that we hope that the plants get so big that they grow up the tree and we can eat the fruit for morning tea. We started off by putting enough soil into each pot. The children used their shovels to do this. We then put our plant into the soil and placed each one next to the trees in the senior garden. We are going to look after them by watering them each day. We cant wait to see them grow! Thank you Kirkby family

04.01.2022 Today Hot Tots celebrated Early Childhood Educators Day. Miss Michelle became chef for the morning and made the team breakfast and presented them with a little gift of thanks thank you also to the families that brought in yummy donuts and biscuits to share and the beautiful flowers .
