19.01.2022 Walk, Trek or Crawl. Falls Creek to Mount Hotham Can you walk from Falls Creek to Mount Hotham in a day? Yes, YOU can! Tired of looking at the same wall on your treadmill, punching out the same old gym classes or running the same loop? Looking for a new challenge? Want to get outdoors and push yourself? Then this is the challenge is for you. 30kms. Walk, trek or crawl. The Alpine walking trail takes you through the picturesque Alpine National Park, over rivers and past histor...ic huts. You may even see a Brumby or two! Teams of 2 or 3- Teams must stay together. $50 per adult $20 per child The track is undoubtedly challenging, with a couple of steep climbs, but it is absolutely achievable to those with a healthy fitness level. The track will be well marked, there will be no navigation required. WHEN? Saturday March 27th WHERE? Start from QT at Falls Creek. Finishing at The General at Mount Hotham for a cold drink and celebration. 15.01.2022 It's almost here. The long weekend to celebrate a monarch's birthday also aligns with the start of the Australian ski season. The HSA has a long tradition of celebrating the beginning of another season of skiing, boarding, partying and having fun in the snow. Please join us for the HSA season opening party, Sunday June the 12th 2016, from 4.00pm at The General. Catch up with friends that you have not seen since last season.

15.01.2022 Current 2021 Membership Rates: Organisations & Clubs $120 per year. . Individuals & Families $40 per year. .... The HSA's new membership-based website system is hierarchical. There is only one primary administrator account for the club/organisation/family/individual details (which the subscription is setup against), and sub-members. When the primary account has been set up, the administrator can then invite their members to also register. . For example, the treasurer will register a subscription on behalf of the whole club, and once activated, sub-members can be invited to also register via a special link. 13.01.2022 many people don't know that as well as the cattlemen's huts such as spargos in the higher parts of Hotham, there was a mock hut built for the 1993 movie, Silver Brumby. Also one of russell crowes earlier films. the hut was rebuilt by tafe students and is easily accessible both during and off the ski season

09.01.2022 awesome vortex dumping snow at Hotham. Now is the time to get up during the week and test your skis, if you haven't already been up yet. And even if you have, it would be un-Australian not to take a day or two off and experience some fresh white powder.

07.01.2022 Hot off the press (as received by ARIAG/HSA) - the State Govt has, in the last hour today, finally confirmed their revised Alpine Support Package - up from $4.3 M to now $10.3 M This is likely essentially the expected rebate for our rates (having already received site rental rebates) - anticipate shortly receiving details from our RMB about its implementation. . 06.01.2022 Thank you to all HSA members that attended the 2020 Annual General Meeting. On behalf of the 2020/2021 committee we look forward to working with members to overcome some of the challenges of the past 12 months and take advantage of some of the opportunities ahead. Clearly the issue of building insurance and the bushfire and COVID recovery are primary concerns from all but we look forward to working with the RMB and other partners to progress solutions to deliver the most succ...essful 2021 winter season as possible. A major focus for the new committee will be to keep you informed of the events going on and maximise the benefits of a cooperative approach to many of the common issues we face. I would strongly urge you all to register your contact details on the new website which will facilitate the communication channel with club lodges and members. The HSA has a new Instagram account and updated Facebook page. The HSA will be using these socials as one of our primary communication methods moving forward. A significant initiative of the past committee was to recognise the lack of income for many members over the 2020 circumstances and not levy charges last year. To ensure we are active and can instigate many of initiatives from the TNE/HSA Destination Action Plan plus support members in attaining cost savings, we would ask to make your 2021 subscriptions as soon as you are able. On behalf of the committee we thank you for your support and welcome your ideas and energy in further improving Mt Hotham for the future. We would also like to recognise the efforts of the previous committee and in particular the two retiring members Rob Anderson and Brian Vowles for their contribution over many years.
