24.01.2022 What a cracker day for fishing Offshore Hervey Bay. Father and Son team, Simon and young Sam got stuck into the fish today. We searched around Hervey Bay fishing large schools of bait being ripped apart by Trevally and Tunas. The fishing action was frantic all day and the boys had a sensational day in the bay P.s young Sammy goes hard for the age of 10 and he is a little legend

24.01.2022 Hi all What a great day it was catching up with this legend Peter Robinson and his partner Sonya on their Offshore charter. I gave them the general run down that the Sharks are particularly bad this time of year so if the float line takes off then grab it quick and pull like a mad man Well all sorts of chaos unfolded when the SHIMANO Australia Fishing Saragossas drag started screaming!! The Sharks were onto to it within 10 seconds of the hook up!!... It was doing drag busting runs all over the top of the water in every direction with the Noah's in hot pursuit. I put the engine in gear and dragged the Spanish out of the pack of Sharks while Pete pulled like a demon. Once landed poor Pete needed a rest as he gave it everything he had. He was rewarded with his biggest ever fish and he did extremely well to pull it out of the mouths of the hungry Sharks. See more

22.01.2022 Hi all We hope everyone enjoyed Christmas day Yesterday Dave,Ben,Macka and little Olli picked up a nice box of fish while fishing in close on our inshore charter option. I have to mention how good little Olli fished.... He's 8yrs old and astounded me how well he could cast and work softplastics as well as pulling fish up of the bottom fast to get them in past the dreaded Sharks. He is a little fishing weapon. 20.01.2022 Hi all It's great to see that the Spanish are getting about again as the waters warm up. This isn't a very recent pic but a good one of Tim with a ripper Spaniard. Most trips lately offshore have seen a couple boated and there numbers should continue to improve over the coming months.... Also Andy from SunCoast Skutes. is helping us to improve on a proven mackerel rig that we have been using for many years. Prototypes will be ready in coming weeks and we are extremely excited about testing them on the Spanish and Spotty Mackerel. Once tested they will be available for purchase from Suncoast Skutes.

14.01.2022 Hi all There's been alot of these legal sized Coral Trout getting around on the closer reefs. Also we have been catching alot of others averaging 4kg on the wider grounds. They always bring excitement to the guests when they catch them and it's always great to see a few in the box mixed in with the other fish. We have alot of very excited clients waiting to get out and chase the Troutys so let's hope the weather gods are kind so we can get out and target them

13.01.2022 Hi all I got the lads out from Brisbane for a fish today. We found plenty of Tuna on the bite but unfortunately dropped a few nice Long tails. The sharks also ate more than there fair share of good fish. This Mac Tuna just made it in the boat in time as it had two very large Whaler sharks chasing it. ... It had the little Stradic SHIMANO Australia Fishing combo screaming drag up into the mangroves before running out and past the boat spending most of the fight doing aerial summersaults They're always fun to catch especially on the ultra light gear. 10.01.2022 Hi all Here is young Tyson with a nice first Spanish Mackerel. The young lad did a fantastic job getting it to the boat before the sharks grabbed it.. It's been fantastic lately with the mums and dads bringing there kids out to catch fish. The excitement level on the Hot Reels boat has been epic

10.01.2022 Hi all When not running charters I sneak out pro line fishing with my father Bob snr. We have mainly been targeting Mackerel over the last few yrs but have also been searching for sneaky little lumps and tiny bumps on the bottom while trolling around or chasing feeding Mackerel under the birds. These small mouth Nannies and larger large mouth Nannies hold up on the isolated grounds and when the weather is calm we drift slowly over the marks to catch them.... It always pays to keep a close eye on your sounder as the tiniest bump or hole can hold some great fish. See more

10.01.2022 Hi all There's been heaps of big Sharks getting about in Hervey Bay recently. This 3m Hammerhead was harassing another boat last time we fished up the Northern Gutters. It then swam over and checked us out then swam back to the other boat. This summer has been a nightmare with big Sharks harassing fisherman and stealing there catch. Some big Whalers have been particularly aggressive. We have still been landing some great fish but have to continually move to different spots as once they find you it becomes impossible to get a fish past them.

09.01.2022 Hi all There's been plenty of these Tuna torpedoes getting about up the bay and Offshore on most trips. Simon is pictured here with a good specimen They go hard on the light tackle and we chase them down in the boat to land them before the big Sharks eat them. Sooooooooo !!!!!! Many Sharks at the moment.
