22.01.2022 It was very exciting to have Santa come and visit our shop yesterday afternoon. Santa put many smiles on children and adults . Thank you to The Borough for filling Santas belly with your delicious rhubarb cake and a cup of the best coffee in town. 16.01.2022 FUNDRAISER COMPLETE A massive thank you to everyone who have helped raise all the funds needed for Zaitunas medical care! Ive woken up to more do...nations! We made it, weve received enough money to cover the hospital bill. Ive just send the money and we even had a little spare to buy Zaituna a soft toy and some money for food. In the hospitals in Uganda you get no meals so its a blessing to be able to get her and Mark some. Zaituna is now in Kampala hospital and in safe hands. She will stay a week at least there. Mark our director in Uganda is with Zaituna and is sleeping by her side at night in a chair. He wont leave her side. God bless him for his continuous loving care and devotion to all our beautiful children. A huge thank you to child protection in Bugiri for their support with Zaituna, paying just over half the hospital bill. Mark ended up on tv when reporters showed up and filmed the hand over of money to Mark for Zaituna. We greatly appreciate child protections help. They enabled Zaituna to go by ambulance to Kampala Hospital, a 6 hour drive! So to everyone out there words cannot express how truly grateful we are for your kindness and care in helping Zaituna get better. She was admitted to hospital yesterday and is in a critical condition. She has been diagnosed with sickle cell disease and has severe malaria. As you can see they have started treatment but she needs to go to the capital citys hospital In Kampala for further treatment. The bill will be $3,500. Child Protection of Uganda is paying $1,950 thankfully. But.... we have to pay remaining balance of $1,550 Unfortunately we have nothing left in our account. Covid has really affected our funds from the charity shop and we barely meet our week to week bills. So we have to ask for help. If anyone is able to contribute to raising $1,550 we would be very grateful for your help. Julius is an orphan and lives with us at House Of Hope Foundation along with his two younger brothers Martin and Vincent.
