23.01.2022 Yesterday 4th January about 3.30pm It then went darker and darker til nearly black. Air quality terrible so can't use air con or open windows. Sitting on lounge with wet towel hanging in front if fan. Works pretty good.

23.01.2022 Thanks for everyones well wishes and concerns. Prepped for 4 days, ramping up as conditions and updates called for it. Moved all furniture away from windows to against furthest brick wall. Removed or tied up curtains, removed all rugs and mats (including doormats) removed all outdoor furniture, filled every sink and bath with water, filled every bin and bucket and garden tubs and placed all around the grounds ready to fight embers and spot fires if they came, have top to... toe to finger tips outfit of natural fibres and leather boots and hard hat and P2 masks, cleaned gutters and blocked down pipe with sock filled with sand and filled with water, every hose connected plus back up water and generator in case of water or power loss. Ladder into roof space ready. Car packed and cat carriers at door ready in case of change of mind to evacuate otherwise plan was to stay and fight. Around ten hours of direct risk from 2pm til midnight yesterday. Fortunately only cold black burnt leaves fell and ash. No live embers no spot fires. Wind was kind to us and less intense than expected and better directions and changes than could have been. Large fires still to our southwest, southeast, northwest and northeast. Weather not ideal again on Thursday and Friday. So will be still prepped for that. So Jindabyne, East Jindabyne, Kalkite, Thredbo, Perisher, Ingebirah, Dalgety, Adaminaby, Cooma and surrounds all good. (Except for burst water tank in cooma causing localised flooding ) Some houses lost to the far north west in Batlow and Talbingo and possibly Corryong. Lovely and cool today. So much smoke in the air. Again thanks for concern. All is well. Love to all and sad for those on south coast and other areas where result wasn't so good. See more

22.01.2022 THANKS TO ANYONE LOOKING AT THIS PAGE Greetings to all previous guests and any new people looking. We are currently in the process of selling --- due to a death in the family our long term plan and circumstances have changed. Phone us direct if you might need a place to stay before end of Feb and we'll see if we can do something. I'll update if new owner plans to have accommodation or not. ... We've loved our time at this home and the stunning location and views. THANKS to everyone who made our 5 years here AMAZING. 16.01.2022 Hello to all old and new guests of House Matterhorn! Thank you to Michelle for our warm welcome and all the help she has given us. I wanted to give you a quick introduction and update on the availability of House Matterhorn for holiday accomodation. Richie and I purchased House Matterhorn just before Covid-19 challenges. This year we have made a tough decision to rent House Matterhorn out for winter rentals, but we have all intentions to open House Matterhorn again for holiday stays in the future. 11.01.2022 So I'll be up the hill this weekend grooving to the Peak Festival Music. Will get some live shots of the early runs in action. Best season open in 30 years the locals are saying. Lots of midweek deals left right through the season. Couple of weekends left in June. Even snow men are relaxing having a game of cards.
