25.01.2022 We created this mask as a tongue in cheek message to highlight the double standards that we see Muslim women subjected to, especially those who choose to wear the niqab. We have been vilified, politicised and ostracised for covering ourselves and our faces, yet the face mask currently worn to protect us from the virus seems perfectly acceptable. As Muslim women, we are tired of the labels, assumptions and critiques placed on us. We hope that this mask generates healthy discu...ssion where the voice and opinions of Muslims are centred and amplified. We created both a physical mask to wear (link in bio to buy) and a mask IG filter (search niqab vs mask) in light of the virtual world we increasingly operate in due to cover-19. Swipe to see both!
