We also strongly recommend trimming the wick every 3 hours of burn time. ... Why you ask??? Simple....keeping the wick trimmed will encourage a more even burn, steady flame and will limit mushrooming and sooting. When trimming the wick, always extinguish the flame first, cool the candle cool down to room temperature, then trim the wick before relighting.
