18.01.2022 Opportunity Pathways client, Jess, is a single mum to a beautiful 10 month old and is completing a TAFE course in order to become a qualified Teacher’s Aide. The Bathurst Opportunity Pathways Program Coach has been able to assist Jess to work towards this goal by providing a laptop and financial support for course textbooks as well as practical support and motivational coaching. Jess has been working really hard to overcome a lot of barriers to complete this course; COVID-19... restrictions have meant studying the course and completing required Prac hours has been difficult, particularly whilst looking after bub. One of the other barriers has been finding suitable child minding options for her 10 month old whilst completing these prac hours. Jess was supported by her Program Coach to find suitable child minding and Jess has now met with a school who have not only agreed to take her on for prac hours commencing this week but have also offered her paid employment! Well done Jess, the Opportunity Pathways team are so proud of you!

15.01.2022 R U OK?Day is Thursday 10 September 2020. It’s our national day of action when we remind Australians that every day is the day to ask, Are you OK? if someone in your world is struggling with life’s ups and downs. The message for R U OK?Day 2020 is: 'THERE'S MORE TO SAY AFTER R U OK?'... 2020 has been a challenging year for everyone and circumstances have made it even more important for us all to stay connected and, for those who are able, be willing to support those around us. You don’t have to be an expert to keep the conversation going when someone says they’re not OK. By knowing what to say you can help someone feel supported and access appropriate help long before they’re in crisis, which can make a really positive difference to their life. Take 5 minutes to watch this video , and take the time this Thursday to have a cuppa with a colleague and ask the question R U OK?
