23.01.2022 Before during and after on the work stand this week

17.01.2022 A Tale of 2 Chains. So as some of you may be aware and for those of you who aren't prepare to be enlightened. I am a big advocate in checking the wear of Every bike that comes into the workshop, as keeping on top of Chain wear can prevent Damage to other parts of the Drive Chain. Now the Chain on the Left is the old one with 1% of wear (a chain on a geared bike should be replaced at 0.75% wear). The Chain on the Right is new and has been Trimmed to have the same amount of links, see the difference in the actual length. now Whilst the Derailleur keeps the Tension what this extra length can cause is hooking in the Cluster and the Chain rings Fortunately this wasn't evident upon inspection so the Customer was lucky.

02.01.2022 A tale of 3 Derailleur Hangers.Poor Shifting can be caused by a number of things like worn chains, stretched cables and of course the humble Hanger. this is the point where you Derailleur attaches to your bike each bike has a different type. when completing the service i check each hanger for alignment to the wheel to make sure that you bike shifts correctly. Each photo has it own caption to describe what happened to it. fortunately if they do get to this point they can easily be replaced
