25.01.2022 Yes the courts are going to be open today from 1 as long as it's not raining. Yes plans are underway to be ready for the 2020/21 summer season please confirm your commitment/ interest in playing. Players from last season and new welcome. With COVID-19 creating a new normal social distancing and zero contact will be standard. All who attend courts/clubs are asked to have the covid app running on their smartphone. Sanitization points will be at all entry points. No sharing of food or drinks. Clubhouse will remain closed to mass use.

23.01.2022 Our committee in the interest of community health and well being have made the difficult decision to cease club activities for now. Until further notice the Howlong tennis club will not be operating night competition on Monday OR Thursday and our Wednesday evening GYRO program will also be suspended.

22.01.2022 Good evening everyone as you can imagine there has been much debate and pondering as to what is the best course of action for the HCTA to take at this time. A decision has been made please read the following. The HCTA Executive held a special meeting tonight in light of the current COVID-19 situation and due to community concern, has decided to cancel the remaining finals for the 2019/2020 season.... Further communication will be sent in the coming days regarding the winners and runners up for each section. These are challenging times for all and your support in this matter is appreciated.

22.01.2022 Monday and Thursday night competition play starts at 7 getting there 10 to 15 minutes earlier is ideal. Wednesday is a different program and time.

20.01.2022 Well that’s a wrap for official tennis this year. Was a great night of entertaining tennis. Congratulations on making the Grand finals people. Teams Western Australia and Victoria battled it out last night, spectators were not disappointed.... Congratulations to Western Australia on being this seasons night comp winners and to their competitors of the evening Victoria.

20.01.2022 Team Mermaid were last nights victor they were dead even on sets and games with two sets to go. Won the night by 6 games. Thanks so much to everyone who participated spectators and players. Really good atmosphere!

17.01.2022 Tonights GYRO session will not be going ahead due to this wonderful precipitation. Anyone that booked and paid online will get a credit for the next session they attend. Whats it about you ask? Getting onto the tennis court and meeting new people and using the courts in a different way with alternate games like pickle ball, triples tennis and modified singles.... WHAT IS PICKLEBALL? Pickleball is paddle sport created for all ages and skill levels. It combines many elements of badminton, ping pong and tennis. The rules are simple and the game is easy for beginners to learn, but the game can develop into a quick, fast-paced, competition for experienced players. Pickleball can be played both indoors or outdoors on a badminton-sized court and a slightly modified tennis net. The sport is played with a paddle and a plastic ball with holes. You can play Pickleball in singles or doubles formats. Pickleball was invented in 1965 on Bainbridge Island, near Seattle Washington and has evolved into both a fun and competitive game throughout the US and Canada.

14.01.2022 Anyone interested in going to Balldale Hotel tomorrow for pre Christmas refreshments , several of us are meeting at the Courthouse hotel Howlong at 11.00am. Then we will travel by bus to Balldale Pub at approximately 12.30pm for lunch and refreshments, returning later in afternoon for further refreshments at the Courthouse hotel Howlong. 14.01.2022 Due to current COVID-19 restrictions only NSW residents will be able to enter in the clubs competitions. This is not ideal as we are a border town and usually entertain cross border participation. Our night comps will be starting September 28th and October 1st. There will be a limit on amount of teams to help with social distancing.... So far we have enough names for 5 monday night teams and 6 thursday night teams. We have room for 2 more teams on monday night and 1 more on thursday. If you want to secure a spot for yourself please email the club with your name and contact number [email protected]

12.01.2022 Morning all, we have had a small response to the notification of the clubs AGM this Wednesday to be held at the golf club in the back room. Meeting starting at 7 if people were interested in getting dinner beforehand the Asian Restuarant is open from 5.30 onwards, bookings may be required. The club is open to fresh energy and ideas. The contribution of members time and skill is needed and appreciated.... We have some long serving committee members that you can have a chat with and see whats involved with running the club. Look forward to working with you all to keep the club moving forward. Had my first hit in ages yesterday and was reminded just how cathartic being out on the courts can be.
