15.01.2022 Do you have children or know someone with children who would love to participate in our School Holiday program but is experiencing financial difficulty? At the YMCA, it is part of our mission to provide equal access to health and wellness services to all members of the community. Through our Open Doors program, subsidies of 80-100% are available. To be eligible, two forms need to be completed: 1. An application form to be completed by the individual seeking support, and... 2. a nomination form to be completed by a referral agency to verify that the applicant is unable to pay but would benefit greatly from participating in our YMCA program. More information about the Open Doors program and the forms detailed above can be found at: http://www.camps.ymca.org.au/support/ask-for-help.html Once you have completed the forms, please forward them to [email protected].

07.01.2022 When school resumes in regional Victoria in term 4, so will school camps. It is great news for everyone in regional Victoria. We all know the benefits of school...s camps. Students have fun, learn about teamwork and build resilience and confidence. It is also significant boost for regional economies where the majority of 190 camps are located. School camps contribute around $134 million to regional economies each year and employ around 5,500 camp staff. It will give all of students in regional Victoria something to look forward to. We all want to see a return to face-to-face teaching as soon as possible. But we just have to keep going and taking the safe and steady steps because what we are doing is working and we are seeing the numbers being driven down. For regional Victoria this is another step forward. And for Melbourne it gives us hope of what we can look forward to.

05.01.2022 It’s preseason inspection time as we pull the winter covers off the High Ropes Course (often disturbing a Feathertail Glider) and carry out an intensive visual inspection of all the anchor points, cables, swages, features and safety systems. Look closely and you’ll see Sheepy on high among the gum leaves.

02.01.2022 Help us find Bogong Moths! We’re tracking their migration along the east coast of Australia to make sure they make it to the Australian Alps. Wild, critically... endangered Mountain Pygmy-possums are waking up and they’re hungry for Bogong Moths! Think you've seen a Bogong Moth? Our team will look at your picture to identify whether it’s a Bogong Moth or not so please still upload any photos of any moths you see on our Moth Tracker. If you want to have a go at identifying a Bogong Moth yourself, this may help: Bogong Moths are usually around 4-5cm long and their body length is up to 2.5cm long They have a dark stripe that runs down each wing They have a spot at the top of the stripe that is shaped like a circle They also have a spot at the bottom of the stripe which is shaped like a kidney Both spots are the same colour Head here for more information and to upload your moth pictures! https://bit.ly/3kJoF9U
