25.01.2022 Cue drum roll...last month our client, Canon Australia, announced the winners of its 2020 Canon Oceania Grants Program! After the public cast more than 5,500 votes for this year's finalists, Canon recognised five organisations across ANZ that will contribute to a better future for their communities. Congratulations to Dogs for Kids, Telethon Speech & Hearing, Action for Dolphins, Broad Bay School and Bay Light. As if it couldn't get better, this marks the first time Canon revamped its Grants Program, debuting a new small business category and increased cash donations to those impacted by this years natural disasters and pandemic. https://www.canon.com.au//small-businesses-recognised-for-

23.01.2022 Just a snapshot of the opr all team’s virtual Personal Accountability training hosted by Phuel! There was dancing, some reflection and even a taste of Christmas to gear the team up, inspiring us to own our careers, not rent them. Thanks to Dean and the Phuel team for this great session!
22.01.2022 Resilience is not something you’re born with. It’s something you build as you bounce back up from setbacks. It’s the bouncing back, time after time, that strengthens that resilience muscle." We heard from the incredibly inspiring Mariam Mohammed Mariam Mohammed as part of our OutsideIn speaker series that features provocative voices, fresh perspectives, powerful insights and incredible stories. A passionate changemaker, Mariam co-founded Moneygirl Australia a social enterp...rise empowering women to become financially independent and was recognised as the Financial Review 100 Women of Influence in 2019, amongst a long list of accolades! She’s also a diversity and inclusion advocate who has for years worked closely with refugees and survivors of sexual assault. We’re all still buzzing from the energy she shared with us, and can’t wait to see where she blazes her trail next. Visit mariammohammed.com for more about her, or moneygirl.co to check out their impactful work. See more
22.01.2022 We’d like to take a moment and shoutout the unsung Howorth work from home heroes Those quietly (mostly) helping us deliver our very best each and every day and asking for only snacks, pats and the occasional walk in return. Shout out to all the pets! Let us know how your furry friend is keeping you company while #WFH?
21.01.2022 With the US elections likely now in our rear view, the world is gradually coming to terms with what #BidenHarris2020 could mean for them. Thanks to new research by IBISWorld, we can see a Biden presidency will have far- reaching implications for Australia, particularly on the economic front. Ibis World has found that the Biden administration could reduce trade-war uncertainty, accelerate international pressure for action on climate chance and expand the Trans-Pacific Partners...hip. 17.01.2022 Happy National #NAIDOCWeek This year's theme, 'Always Was, Always Will Be' recognises that First Nations people have occupied and cared for this continent for over 65,000 years, as the oldest surviving culture in the world. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people were Australia’s first explorers, first navigators, first engineers, first farmers, first botanists, first scientists, first diplomats, first astronomers, and first artists. Thanks to them, Australia has t...he world’s oldest oral stories. We take this opportunity to recount the history of Barangaroo - where our office is - named after a powerful Cammeraygal woman who lived in the area at the time of early colonial settlement. Barangaroo had presence and authority, fighting for what she believed in and having the courage to go against the grain. Today, she remains a key figure in local Aboriginal culture and community. Today and always, we are proud to acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the land on which we come together. We acknowledge the continuing connection to land, waterways and culture. We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging. #NAIDOC2020 #NAIDOC #inclusionmatters
16.01.2022 It's safe to say COVID-19 has redefined what we would traditionally consider to be a 'safe' working environment. As many Australian businesses now look towards the road to recovery, understanding how to tackle the new health and safety requirements to manage an office return, can be a fairly daunting task. Australian tech company start-up and Howorth client, SafetyCulture, has addressed this issue head-on. SafetyCulture has created an innovative health and safety checklist ap...p known as iAuditor, allowing businesses to carry out inspections digitally and manage their return to work through the pandemic. The Howorth team are proud to support the ongoing success of SafetyCulture, who continue to empower Aussie workers to be more proactive about their workplace health and safety. https://www.afr.com//workplaces-flock-to-aussie-tech-firm-
16.01.2022 We’re proud to work with Iress, in its joint proposal to Government for a national technology apprenticeship scheme. The move would give school leavers and career-changers a recognised alternative to university qualifications.
16.01.2022 It’s happy days as we gradually start to make our move back to the office! There are a handful of desks available each day, and of course, social distancing is the key and hand sanitiser is on tap #TeamHoworth #returntowork
16.01.2022 Congratulations to our own Georgia Colahan who has been shortlisted in the Public Relations category of B&T’s 30Under30 Awards this year. Wishing you the best of luck, congratulations!

13.01.2022 Having a great story sits at the heart of what we do, but those stories are being told in different ways and in different places. On Mumbrella today, our MD, Jacquie Potter weighed in on how comms consultants should continue driving compelling stories despite the shrinking media landscape. As she shares, beyond earned media, the work we do must connect directly with key audiences to generate leads and enable sales teams.... Read more on her view of the role of journalism, and how holistic thinking will shift the value of comms below.

10.01.2022 As you think about how your business will change over the next one, five or ten years, some of the most important questions may be the ones you ask your employees. Ask them how they want to work, what they miss about the office and what parts of their new working arrangements they want to keep. Marie-Claire Maple on the future of the office. Our very own Marie-Claire Maple shared her thoughts with B&T about the future of office spaces as lockdown laws begin to relax and business leaders contemplate how to safely return. Should we be considering something else entirely? Read more: https://www.bandt.com.au/is-the-office-dead/
07.01.2022 And this year's Michael Hartmann Award for Bravery goes to... Anastassia Keltchina from our Howorth team! Michael Hartmann was a former colleague and dear friend of ours at opr who sadly lost his battle with brain cancer in 2016. Brave on so many fronts, Michael was always pushing people to follow their dreams. Inspired by this, each year the winner is awarded funding to follow a dream, be brave and do something they have never done before.... Congrats, Ana - we can't wait to see what you do! And another big congrats to our Howie runner ups Georgia Colahan, Paul Thompson and Natalie Carter!
07.01.2022 Like father like son. The Howorth team was treated today to a spectacular family double team by two generations of Corrigan suited and booted. Our resident content king Brian Corrigan and his content prince Charlie giving new meaning to 'bring your child to work'. We now wait with bated breath as to the sequel, which may involve Brian joining Charlie's English class in full school uniform
06.01.2022 "It’s a great victory for us to have some of the biggest organisations in Australia wanting to talk about mental health. Associate Professor Samuel Harvey, Chief Psychiatrist & Head of the Workplace Mental Health Research Program, Black Dog Institute This week we supported the launch of Corporate Mental Health Alliance Australia (CMHAA), which involves 15 of the country’s biggest employers coming together to champion a culture of good mental health in the workplace. The e...stablishment of CMHAA comes at a time when mental health issues in the workplace are increasing in prevalence with the COVID-19 pandemic, with increased anxiety and uncertainty, self-isolation, family stress and financial hardship having a very real impact on quality of life. We're proud to have played a role in helping launch this Alliance. Click the link below to learn more about how some of our nation’s largest companies are uniting: https://bit.ly/2SWd0II
06.01.2022 It’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas (in July) This month’s Howdown included xmas-themed trivia, our fave carols, and a new family photo for the mantle piece (we almost got everyone smiling). #TeamHoworth
05.01.2022 It’s fair to say the last few months have fundamentally changed how we communicate. 2020 has been marked by sweeping changes to the industry’s purpose and function, both inhouse and agency. But what do these changes mean? And how will they play out long-term? The Future of Communications takes an in-depth look at the cultural, economic, social, political and technological forces impacting marketing and communications, and the resulting skills that every comms professional will need over the next decade to navigate it. 04.01.2022 From where we'd all like to be. Some eager Howies have sent the agency into a jealous frenzy by taking full advantage of the recent easing of NSW restrictions. From lush coastal walks from Bondi to Bronte to cosy Air BNB escapes in Joadja and Smiths Lake, William Wallace would be proud of these go-getters making the most of their newfound freedom! #TeamHoworth
04.01.2022 The concept of communications almost since its inception has largely been about speaking your message. But in the 21st century the rules have changed. Words are cheap, modern communications is about doing and businesses are now measured by their capacity to show not tell. Our CEO Richard Brett recently spoke with AdNews Australia about ‘The Decade of Do’,a new book co-written by Richard, editorial director Brian Corrigan and chief creative officer Bridget Jung that ushers in ...a new era for marketing, one based on doing rather than telling in a time where actions are speaking louder than words. 04.01.2022 An outside perspective is a clearer perspective. This week, we officially launched our 'OutsideIn' speaker series. Every month we'll be exposing our team to influential voices, fresh perspectives, powerful insights and incredible stories to inspire a new era of storytelling in this changing world. Our first speaker was the incredible Isaiah Dawe, CEO and Founder of ID Know Yourself, the first Aboriginal not-for-profit mentoring organisation to specifically support Aborigina...l teenagers in preparing them for life after foster care. Isaiah shared his determination to break the cycle of inter-generational trauma and suffering for young people in out of home care and give them a sense of cultural identity, direction, purpose and a feeling of belonging and love. As he says, Because when there’s hope in the future, there is power in the present. We haven’t stopped talking about Isaiah and his mission since the session. His energy, enthusiasm and positivity is truly infectious. 03.01.2022 Everyday should be #RUOKDay, but today's a great reminder to check in with each other, especially after what 2020 has thrown our way! We are grateful for having tight-knit teams like this, who took time out today to celebrate life's little wins and the awesome company we keep. At a time when our mental health needs a bit more TLC, RUOK? Day recommends using these four steps to have a conversation that could change a life: 1. Ask R U OK? 2. Listen... 3. Encourage action 4. Check in Join us in starting meaningful conversations by asking R U OK, and knowing #theresmoretosay if the answer is "no".
01.01.2022 2020, but make it fun! Here's us in our natural habitat this year, which has taught us a lot - mostly about how anything is possible when you're flanked by legends.
