Did you know that one in every 2,800 children has childhood dementia yet the condition is little known, grossly neglected, and under-researched? There are over 70 conditions that cause childhood dementia. Less than 5% of these have treatments. The end result: Parents worldwide are told to take their sick children home and enjoy the time they have with them as they watch them decline and suffer. We believe this is unacceptab...le. The Childhood Dementia Initiative will radically accelerate research to save children from childhood dementia. Like adult dementia, childhood dementia is devastating. It robs children of their memories and their ability to walk, talk, and recognise those who love them. In most cases, after suffering appalling quality of life, it robs children of their lives.
