24.01.2022 We flew over Kakadu National Park! What an awesome experience!! I remember doing so many school projects on Kakadu and it seemed like such an awesome but far away place from the tiny little rural town I grew up in down in NSW. Now? We’ve been twice with more plans to come back and each time we seem to have these incredible experiences.... If you’re going to Kakadu, make sure to get the 1-hour scenic flight with @kakaduair It’s totally worth it. 22.01.2022 PARENT TRAVEL TIP Bluetooth Kids Headphones Aurora LOVES her headphones! It took a while but we consistently put on her favourite songs and slowly but surely she loves them.... She’s sitting next to me and has been wearing hers listening to music for over half an hour! We were able to go to the shops, come home, and get a bit of work done as well all in this time. Not only does this mean that you get some quiet time in your day, but they are listening to their favourite songs AND if it’s kids music, you don’t have to listen It’s also a great way to encourage them to build their independence playing on their own which is something that is important to us. 20.01.2022 SENSORY BOARDS Have you made one for your kids? Or bought one? We made one for Aurora when she was around 7 months old and she still uses it today.... We went to Bunnings (hardware store in AUS), and picked up a slab of wood, and a few things to put on it and got to work. Aurora’s sensory board has: - 2 x door handles - 1 x light switch - 2 x different sized wheels - 1 x toilet paper holder - 1 x gate latch - 1 x draw knob - 1 x chain If we were doing it again, I’d probably add some more switch style things, and anything that moves because as she’s gotten older, if she can’t move it or make noise with it, she’s not interested...
