22.01.2022 Dear Parents and Carers, 2021 classes were finalised today. Schools are staffed depending on the number of enrolments in each year group. We had planned on 26 classes but have fallen slightly below that at 25 classes. We chose the model that would involve the least amount of change through the school, and would impact on the least number of students. Taking into consideration where the numbers fall, we collapsed a Year 1 class with Kinder Apple changing to K/1 Apple. The tea...chers on that class have had considerable experience on a multi age class and are experts at differentiating the syllabus. Parents and Carers would have received a note home today if their child is moving class on Monday. Only students will be able to enter the school site as of Monday. We thank our community for their cooperation and recognise that next week will be confusing for our kindergarten students. We will have plenty of teachers at gates 4 & 6 to help students to their rooms. Remember to tell your child which gate to go to in the afternoon and reassure them that you will be waiting there for them. Their class teachers will walk the younger students to the gates, just as they did last year. Have a great weekend! Kylie Donovan PRINCIPAL

20.01.2022 Dear Parents & Carers, We had our first three of four presentation assemblies today. I absolutely need to publicly acknowledge the skill and expertise of one of our teachers, Cathie Circosta. We were one of very few schools who live-streamed, not on a FB platform using a phone but using custom equipment purchased especially for this purpose. Both Mrs Circosta and Mrs Beath had to work around limitations that the DoE were not aware of when using YouTube and our school wifi, b...ut trouble-shoot they did! Thank you to Miss Sami and Mrs Sosa for their organisation for everything regarding Presentation Day. We are so appreciative and thankful for the work you all do. Kylie Donovan PRINCIPAL

19.01.2022 URGENT!!!! We lost our connection so we have had to set up a new link for Kindergarten Presentation https://youtu.be/3NW4XA7Ve_M

18.01.2022 We have had difficulties with the link for Stage 2 Presentation Day. We have recorded it and it will be available shortly. Sorry for the inconvenience.

16.01.2022 What do you want to be when you grow up?

16.01.2022 Parents and Carers, We had an interesting break-in at our school last night where the water was turned off at the mains. Copper pipes all around the school were cut off and stolen, including the taps. If you have any information that may assist police, please DM this page. On a positive note, I’m hoping our community stay healthy and are enjoying the school holidays outside in the glorious weather forecasted for this week.... Kylie Donovan PRINCIPAL

12.01.2022 People in South West Sydney are being asked to be extra vigilant when it comes to symptoms after NSW Health’s ongoing sewage surveillance program detected fragm...ents of the virus that causes COVID-19 at a treatment plant in Glenfield. This catchment takes in the suburbs of Airds, Ambarvale, Appin, Bardia, Blair Athol, Blairmount, Bow Bowing, Bradbury, Campbelltown, Casula, Claymore, Currans Hill, Eagle Vale, Englorie Park, Eschol Park, Gilead, Glen Alpine, Glenfield, Gregory Hills, Holsworthy, Ingleburn, Kearns, Kentlyn, Leumeah, Long Point, Macquarie Fields, Macquarie Links, Menangle Park, Minto, Raby, Rosemeadow, Ruse, St Andrews, St Helens Park, Varroville and Woodbine. Everyone in these areas is asked to be alert for symptoms, to get tested immediately if they appear and then isolate until they receive a negative result. The presence of SARS-CoV-2 in sewage may reflect the presence of known cases of COVID-19 diagnosed in recent weeks in the areas served by this sewage treatment plant. However, NSW Health is concerned there could be other active cases in the local community in people who have not been tested and who might incorrectly assume their symptoms are just a cold. Anyone who is experiencing any cold- or flu-like symptoms, no matter how mild, is urged to isolate immediately, get tested and continue to isolate until a negative result is received. This is particularly important in areas where there have been recent cases, including western Sydney, south-west Sydney, the Northern Beaches and Wollongong. There are more than 350 COVID-19 testing locations across NSW, many of which are open seven days a week. To find your nearest clinic visit https://www.nsw.gov.au//how-to-protect-yourself-an/clinics or contact your GP.

11.01.2022 Dear Parents and Carers, There is one day left for Year 1 & 2 parents and carers to drop off and pick up their children inside the school. As of Thursday, you will need to drop off and collect your child from the school gates. Too many students are arriving late to school. This is not a good start to the year. Teachers are on duty at 8:30am and students should arrive at school by 8:45am. This gives them the chance to see their friends and then they are in their classroom at 8...:55am when their lessons begin. After 8:55am your child is late. The Home School Liaison Officer closely monitors students who are late, absent or who leave early. Be mindful that traffic congestion around the school is not a valid reason that is accepted by the Home School Liaison Officer. Also be aware that parking over residents’ driveways is honestly just inconsiderate behaviour. Please think of our neighbours. Kylie Donovan PRINCIPAL

10.01.2022 Stage 2 Presentation Recording. Sorry for the issues. https://youtu.be/htM0qGB6Ga0

10.01.2022 Today we welcomed Jellybean, Peanut’s brother.

09.01.2022 Parents and Carers, Last night we had a further break in to our school. Plumbers had been onsite for two days reinstalling pipe and making repairs after the last break in. Overnight, the reinstalled pipes and taps were again stolen, along with all other copper pipes and taps, timers, two fire hydrants and the gas meter. School security are increasing patrols.... Unfortunately vacation care has had to be relocated. There is no water at the school and it is anticipated that repairs will take at least the rest of the week to complete. If you see or hear anyone after hours on the school site, please call School Security: 1300 880 021 Kylie Donovan PRINCIPAL

09.01.2022 We are trying to get ready for 2021

05.01.2022 Our school is proud to be part of The Connection. Innovative schools from NSW, VIC & SA were invited to be a part of The Bright Spots group of schools as a Star Hub school. We are in our 4th year of partnership, constantly learning and sharing our school’s learning with like minded leaders, while learning from some world leading educators.
