Well done Matthew.

19.01.2022 Music training has a huge impact on children throughout their lives. The study below shows only just a small glimpse into why children who receive music training are given an advantage over those who do not. At Hope Performing Arts Centre we know first hand how much music impacts the growing minds of our students we get to see 3 year olds grow and develop into kindergarten’s who are focused and attentive and then grow to be tweens and tens who have goals they are driven to a...chieve both with music and their other pursuits. If you are interested in learning more about how music can benefit your child or you are wanting to know how you can get them started send us a message today. https://www.mic.com//science-just-discovered-something-ama

19.01.2022 Some days my students just put a smile on you face. All three of these girls have worked really hard this term to finish their method book and as a result all 3 have moved up a level. But what brings me the most joy about teaching these girls is how much they enjoy making music together, whether it’s playing theory games or listening to each other play a new piece of music or even attempting one of our lap tap clap pieces as a duet, all three come to class with a smile and leave with an even bigger one. Well done Anabelle, Amelia and Shayen.

19.01.2022 Developing finger independence and strength is crucial to lots of skills including writing and learning to play in musical instrument. Over the break we came up with a this little sorting game to share with families that they can play at home. Set up is easy you just need a table, 2 dice, 2 small cups, a plate and between 20 and 30 small objects per player (same amount each). In the video below Eddison helps me explain how to play the game.

19.01.2022 Training performers (musicians, dancers and actors) to be the influencers of the next generation, is a great honour and one we do not take lightly. Teaching our students to understand and embrace the importance of the stage from which they speak is a challenge. Often times we can get wrapped up in the lights, the costumes, the learning and the nerve that we forget how powerful and yet humbling at the same time it is to be given the privilege of being a performer. Teaching children that the message they have to tell is important and giving them the skills to tell that message is one of the most rewarding parts of my job.

19.01.2022 Learning an instrument has a wide range of benefits for children, including, Helping them thrive at school, Giving them a way to express their emotions, and nurturing their creativity.... At Hope Performing Arts Centre, we strive to help our students to become confident creative musicians, If you have a child who would love to learn the violin, piano, guitar or voice and are looking for teachers who will nurture your child's creativity and grow thier confidence then we would love to hear from you. To book a studio tour and a free mini lesson with one of our teachers send us a message today.

19.01.2022 Right from the very beginning our piano lessons teach kids how to play together with others, how to play from memory and how to keep in time, just like a real musician. This is a short clip of our Thursday beginner piano class, they have only had 6 lessons and last week I challenged them to learn Batter Up from Wunderkeys Primer book 1 from memory and all of them aced it. They even played it from memory as a whole class which is a very tricky skill to master. Well done everyone, so very proud of you.

19.01.2022 Jacinta has only had just 4 lessons and she is already developing a lovely relaxed hand and great finger technique. This is short clip of Jacinta playing Shake the Tree from Wunderkeys Primer book 1.

19.01.2022 Prepping for our games/aural skills afternoon for our pre-exam, preliminary and Grade 1 instrumental students this afternoon. We are looking forward to seeing them all again this afternoon.

18.01.2022 Sharing the joy of music with little ones is such a rewarding experience. Watching their eyes light us as they discover sounds and how they work, seeing their pride as they master a new rhythm and watching their confidence grow each week are just some of the wonderful benefits that will give them the skills they need to be successful and confident musicians. I just love how Alex is exploring sounds on the xylophone with a big Whoosh. Even at just 3 years old he is already understand the idea of high and low sounds and where to find them on his instrument. A skill that is so crucial to playing an instrument. Little ones like this never cease to amaze me with how much they can absorb and learn in such a very short space of time.

18.01.2022 Well done Jacob on completing the second Preschool Wunderkeys Book. It has been an absolute joy playing duets with you each week. Looking forward to book 3

16.01.2022 To the dad who play pretend, dances and sings with their child. To the dad that attends every concert with the video recorder so he can enjoy each performance again and again. To the dad who sits in the practice room and encouraging thier child even when they have heard the same peice of music 5 times already. You are our heroes. You are the motivation behind the best performances, the coach who helps to keep going and the friend who we get to have the best fun with. Thanks for being there for you children. Happy Fathers Day

07.01.2022 Interesting read, For those who are interested Music 2 Extension requires a student to be at an accomplished diploma level on thier instrumental studies to do well. To get to this level generally children need to have started learning an instrument no later that year 2 at school. This is one of the reasons why we specialise in earlychildhood music and instrumental lessons, so that we can ensure that children who wish to do Music 2 Extension are well prepared.

07.01.2022 The benefits of a portable instrument. Mum can make you practice in the car while your waiting for your big sisters class to finish.
