25.01.2022 Tim has over 10 years in all aspects of concreting. From house slabs, suspended floors, basements, driveways, curb and channel and is now specialising in polish...ed concrete. With all this knowledge he knows exactly the importance a compact base for your final product. Poldev are huge believers in you get what you pay for and just because you’ve been given a cheaper quote doesn’t mean your paying for a better product and in the long run you have to pay twice for anyway. Make sure you support qualified trades so you get the best product. Www.poldev.com.au Tim -0430512394

18.01.2022 Scammers are taking advantage of fears surrounding the Coronavirus. Please be aware. Here some things to watch out for: Hang up on robocalls. Don’t press any numbers. Scammers are using illegal robocalls to pitch everything from scam Coronavirus treatments to work-at-home schemes. The recording might say that pressing a number will let you speak to a live operator or remove you from their call list, but it might lead to more robocalls, instead. Ignore online offers ...for vaccinations and home test kits. Scammers are trying to get you to buy products that aren’t proven to treat or prevent the Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) online or in stores. At this time, there also are no FDA-authorized home test kits for the Coronavirus. Visit the FDA to learn more. Fact-check information. Scammers, and sometimes well-meaning people, share information that hasn’t been verified. Before you pass on any messages, contact trusted sources. Visit What the U.S. Government is Doing for links to federal, state and local government agencies. Know who you’re buying from. Online sellers may claim to have in-demand products, like cleaning, household, and health and medical supplies when, in fact, they don’t. Don’t respond to texts and emails about checks from the government. The details are still being worked out. Anyone who tells you they can get you the money now is a scammer. Don’t click on links from sources you don’t know. They could download viruses onto your computer or device. Watch for emails claiming to be from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) or experts saying they have information about the virus. For the most up-to-date information about the Coronavirus, visit the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO). Do your homework when it comes to donations, whether through charities or crowdfunding sites. Don’t let anyone rush you into making a donation. If someone wants donations in cash, by gift card, or by wiring money, don’t do it. This info has been taken from the consumer.ftc.gov website you can also see more on the Australian scamwatch site scamwatch.gov.au/news/warning-on-covid-19-scams

16.01.2022 Dear Customers, Due to Covid-19 I will be limiting my face to face onsite jobs. I will be doing most work remotely - wherever possible. In cases where this is not possible I can pickup your system. I ask that you unplug your system and leave it in front of your house for pickup. If possible you can disinfect laptops with alcohol wipes prior to pickup. I will be taking every precaution possible to keep everyone, including myself, safe. Anyone wishing to drop off their laptop ...or system off to me, you will need to ring ahead to arrange this, I may ask you to leave your system at the front without contact. Any repairs needing parts, there will be longer wait periods as stock is very limited and suppliers may not be open. This includes new computer systems and new laptops. A lot is still unclear with the current situation and we are all doing our best. If your computer problem is not urgent and it's for entertainment only, please try and source an alternative. If you are a business I ask that you exercise safe practices, as recommended by authorities while I'm on site. If you have been asked to work remotely and need help please let me know, I can help. These are very testing times and everyone needs to be careful. Stay safe. See more

13.01.2022 Will you be trying the new Edge browser?

13.01.2022 For my mental health, I am stepping away from social media for the foreseeable future. I am still open for support over the phone and via remote assistance. Just leave me a text or call on 0428630021. For the health and safety of myself and others, I cannot offer onsite services at this time. However, in technical emergencies I can offer contact free pickup and delivery of devices.... Thank you all for your understanding in these trying times. Stay safe, and keep well.

11.01.2022 Now that Microsoft has notified everyone about Windows 7 end of support its time to update/upgrade your machine. It is worthwhile to note that any machine that has Windows 7 Ultimate will need to have a clean installation and most probably you will need to buy a Windows licence. There are friends of friends or family members that have installed a version of Windows with all the bells and whistles without thinking about the consequences, nearly all of these installations ar...e corporate or pirated. This is ok if you just play games or don't store anything important on your PC, you can just wipe it and start again, but you won't be able to upgrade. For some people that use their PC for home business or other important activities and have programs and important stored data it becomes costly. The Windows upgrade is still free - as of last installation. Get in touch if you want a professional upgrade to #Windows10 Don't forget I build systems for any occasion. See more

09.01.2022 Have you checked your Windows updates lately. Click on PC Settings or click the little cog in your start menu, then click on "update & security" You may have an update waiting, click on check for updates and allow your system to download and update. Restart your system when/if prompt. Chances are that there is the 28 January update waiting to be installed. "January 28, 2020KB4532695" #Windows10Update

07.01.2022 Little before and after on some home Reno’s. The bonus of Tim being a qualified builder and Concreter is he can do most jobs start to finish. No organising different trades, no juggling invoices.

06.01.2022 The new edge chromium browser from Microsoft really sucks. This is the simplest way to put it. I decided to give a try on a #Windows10Upgrade and spent about an hour trying to find a setting, a setting that is not even there. If you're a #Bing lover this wouldn't be too much of a problem, but since Bing brings up terrible search results, this was not for me. Bing often shows results from third party websites and can easily redirect people to installing PUPs. New tabs always open in the Bing search page, the only thing you can customize is the useless appearance and this is only from your view. This alone is enough for me to never install the new Edge. Long live the human friendly #Firefox although, #Google is making harder for other browsers. Have you tried the new Edge yet? If so, tell us what you think.

03.01.2022 Update (2:25 PM AEST): Good news! The issue is now fixed. Your connection should be working again. The massive messaging storm that presented as a Denial of ...Service cyber-attack has been investigated by our security teams and we now believe that it was not malicious, but a Domain Name Server issue. We're really sorry for getting in the way of your weekend plans. Update (12:05 PM AEST): We're blocking the malicious traffic attacking some of our services. We are confident we have blocked all of this malicious traffic and are working to get you back up and running again. Thanks for sticking with us. Update (11:42 AM AEST): We don't have a fix just yet, but we've identified the issue and are working on it. Some of our Domain Name Servers (DNS) used to route your traffic online are experiencing a cyber attack, known as a Denial of Service (DoS). Your information is not at risk. We're doing all we can to manage the issue and get you back online. Our team is looking into an issue impacting some home internet connections including nbn. We'll keep you posted as we get on top of it. Sorry to mess with your Sunday plans.
