24.01.2022 Friends of River Gum Creek Reserve, Black SNAKE SIGHTING at River Gum Creek Reserve, Hampton Park. Please be cautious if you are in the area. It is rare for these snakes to bite people, however they are all dangerously venomous. Beware of snakes while walking the dog, cycling and bush-walking around the reserve. #HPPA1922 #rivergumcreekreserve #rivergumreserve #melbournewater #cityofcasey #communitymatters

23.01.2022 Ask someone this question today - RUOK, and the reply will be, I’m okay, really. Do we really think we have all been ourselves? We are in tough times and more then ever, we need to be talking and telling family or friends how we really feel. Many of us feel a strong need to help others, but if you’re struggling, as the airline safety videos tell us, you’ve really got to make sure you put your own oxygen mask on first. We are all in this together. KEEP THE CONVERSATIONS GOING. #HPPA1922 #HamptonPark #communitymatters #RUOK www.ruok.org.au/how-to-ask
22.01.2022 This time back in 2016, the Hampton Park Rivergum Creek Reserve playground was opened. It was meant to be within a year that toilets were to be built for the community's use. The new toilets are being built now and will includes a disable toilet. Toilets will be open and close by City of Casey? We are still trying to get car parking and improve carparking around Rivergum Creek Reserve. 19.01.2022 Spring officially arrives this week and whether you’re raising veggies for the family or the whole neighbourhood or just like a few flowers by the front door, spring is the season for getting your hands really dirty. There is nothing like using home-grown veggies for freshness and flavour. There is a vast range of produce you can grow yourself at home, and spring is the season to start planting many of your favourites for a steady crop until next winter. It’s time to plant th...ose beetroots, cauliflowers, capsicums, lettuces, onions, peas, radishes, snow peas, spring onions, tomatoes and more Due to stage 4 restrictions in the Melbourne Metro area we’ve had a lots of time to work in the garden and do a clean out but now is the time to discard the unnecessary items that have piled up in your garages, closets and corners. It is time for unloading the unwanted, great finds in the stacks to donate or start selling. Soon we will be out and about (in small numbers) students will be back at school term 4 and we will all be able to enjoy the outdoors just a little more. It will be a time to drop of those donations and you will be all done and getting ready for Christmas. #HPPA1922 #spring #cleanup See more

12.01.2022 75th Anniversary Commemorative Service has been cancelled due to the COVID-19 Stage 4 restrictions in Victoria. At the beginning of 1945, Australians had been at war for over five years. In Europe, the Germans surrendered on 7 May 1945. Australian prisoners of war in European prison camps were liberated and Australian sailors and aircrew began returning home. This was a war like no other in history, with Australians fighting in theatres of war across the globe from Europe t...o North Africa, the Mediterranean and the Middle East, to Asia and the Pacific, and conflict coming to the Australian mainland for the first time. The 75th Anniversary Commemorative Service will be an opportunity for all Australians to pause, reflect and acknowledge the service and sacrifice of more than 39,000 who lost their lives, the some 30,000 taken as prisoners of war and those who made their contribution in service on the home front. #HPPA1922 #HamptonPark #communitymatters #WWII #Veteran #75th #worldwartwo

05.01.2022 Every year at 11am on 11 Novemberthe eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh monthwe pause to remember those men and women who have died or suffered in all wars, conflicts and peace operations. Remembrance Day, also known as Poppy Day, due to the tradition of the "Red" remembrance poppy. This year the Hampton Park is also going to remember the "Purple" poppy. The purple poppy also known as the Animal poppy is a memorial tribute remembering the service and sacrifices of all animals, great and small, that subsequently lost their lives in service; as well as honoring and recognising animals within the armed forces who bravely serve and work the frontline today
04.01.2022 Most people are unaware that as well as the traditional red poppy worn to mark the Remembrance Day 11 November, that there is also the purple poppy, remembering animals that died during conflict. We encouraged our community to wear the purple poppy alongside the traditional red poppy as a reminder that both humans and animals have and continue to serve. This year’s Hampton Park Remembrance Day service, will be much like the 2020 ANZAC Day service and it will be done from home.... The HPPA has put a small video together for todays service. Lest We Forget To commemorate all the animal deeds and sacrifices in war https://www.youtube.com/watch #HPPA1922 #Communitymatters #LestWeForget
03.01.2022 Today we are going purple! This year marks the 75th anniversary of the end of the Second World War. As the world welcomed peace, thousands returned home to much fanfare, and their loved ones. Thousands more never made the journey home including the animals. This year we are not only using the red poppy BUT we would like to highlight the purple poppy this year.... The purple poppy is often worn to remember animals that have been victims of war. Animals like horses, dogs and pigeons were often drafted into the war effort, and those that wear the purple poppy feel their service should be seen as equal to that of human service.
