13.01.2022 "Tell me about yourself" It sure is a tricky question. 1. Who are you? Im a CPA qualified Finance Manager with over 10 years of experience building and leading high performing teams.... 2. Why youre good for the role Make sure this relates to the job youre going for! Ive spent the last 5 years at XYZ where I turned the team and the department around. I helped the business lower the turnover rate by over 50% and reduced month-end by over 8 days. Because of this I won a company award for outstanding achievement last year. Think of 2 or 3 of your main achievements. Make sure you talk about what you did and not the team. 3. Why youre interested and keen on the role I feel I have taken my current role a long way and Im now looking forward to a new challenge. I feel my experience could bring a lot of value to your role. it sounds really exciting. Practice your answer a few times.

12.01.2022 You CANNOT ask these questions when you interview someone. They are ILLEGAL to ask and you may get sued. I thought this will be a healthy reminder as we have heard some absolute doozies recently. My advice is to stay away from asking any of these topics. They don't add any value anyway.... One I did miss on this video is that you can't ask about criminal convictions. No, you cant. If you don't have time to watch the video you can't ask any of the following: Age Nationality Birthplace Religion Religious Holidays Marital Status Pregnancy Status Plans to have children Mental and Physical Disabilities Gender I hope this helps.

08.01.2022 Let's put the HUMAN back into recruitment. If youre recruiting, look at it from the candidates point of view. If you treat them like them you would want to be treated yourself it will amaze you how better you and your company will be at attracting talent. Consider these points:... How does the applicant first engage with your company? What is the application process like? At what stage do they first TALK with someone? What do they think of the interview process? How long does the process take? Are they bought in and engaged? Has communication with them being strong? Pull apart every step of the process. What is your candidate thinking? Reverse engineer it and put yourselves in their shoes. Are YOU happy? Then the chances are they will be too. #recruitment #interviewing #hiringmanagers

05.01.2022 If you want to improve your strike rate when applying for jobs follow the tips on this video. Companies use ATS or Applicant Tracking Systems. These systems match the words on your resume/CV to the Position Description. The more KEYWORDS you have in your resume that match, the higher you go up the ranking.
