23.01.2022 Gympie Region Qld: Do you know anyone who is wanting to enhance koala habitat on their property to help out the local koala populations? We are offering free tr...ees to landholders in the Gympie Regional Council area (courtesy of Council Enviro Levy grant) seeking to do larger projects eg 100 plus trees. We know wildlife have a much better chance of survival if habitat is connected rather than isolated, so email us [email protected] to find out more. We will also have a Community Tree Planting in Widgee in coming months-helpers needed and a great way to learn from Rick all about what to plant where, best planting techniques etc. Thanks, Koala Action Gympie and Widgee. 20.01.2022 Brisbane City Council planning laws and urban design are short-changing us. Check out this new development. No space for trees on the blocks No street trees ...No habitat Only cars Not improved density Is this what we want for our suburbs? If this type of housing is approved then: * Developers should pay to have power poles and wires put underground to make way for street trees. * Developers should pay for equivalent green space to provide for large trees, habitat for wildlife and outdoor play space for children. 14.01.2022 PLEASE consider writing to council regarding the developments that are poised to clear fell our precious bush land in Bellbird Park and Springfield. We are not against development and understand people need housing, but animals also need to live too, so surely we need to protest this... and argue for a gentler way of development....otherwise the first you will know of it is the bulldozers coming in. We have Powerful owls, Koalas, Platypus, Greater Gliders all at risk. Wildlif...e corridors that support them will be lost forever. There will be major earthworks that shatter the peace and raise dust levels to intolerable. There will be 1000's more cars on our roads and the lots sizes are so small that you will hear the conversations of half a dozen neighbors at once.

10.01.2022 After a development application for units and a childcare centre was rejected, the LNP sent it to the Planning & Environment Court, where it was overturned and ...approved. Adrian Schrinner and Tracy Davis are now trying to do this to the development application that will destroy koala and glider habitat in Bridgeman Downs bushland. We can't let that happen. Join Bart Mellish MP- Member for Aspley and Councillor Jared Cassidy by signing our petition, calling on Council to save this vital bushland: https://www.epetitions.brisbane.qld.gov.au/petiti//pid/902 Petition closes tonight
