21.01.2022 LATEST UPDATE: The JobKeeper Payment, which was originally due to run until 27 September 2020, will now continue to be available to eligible businesses (including the self-employed) and not-for-profits until 28 March 2021. However, businesses will need to demonstrate that they have met the relevant decline in turnover test in each of the June and September quarters to be eligible for the JobKeeper Payment from 28 September 2020 to 3 January 2021. To remain eligible for the Jo...bKeeper Payment from 4 January 2021 to 28 March 2021, businesses will need to demonstrate that they have met the relevant decline in turnover test with reference to their actual GST turnover in each of the June, September, and December quarters 2020. The eligible employee tests have not changed. 20.01.2022 Australians who withdrew their superannuation without having lost their jobs are now being investigated by the ATO. The ATO allowed people who lost their jobs during the lockdown to withdrew up to $10,000. Sole traders who business suffered at least 20% reduction were also eligible. Those didn't loose their job were ineligible. Those caught will have the withdrawal amount added to their taxable income, and may pay penalties up to $12,000.... 17.01.2022 Did you receive JobKeeper payments this year? Are you confused about how to complete your tax return? Don't be! We are here to help you with your tax return. Where you need to include JobKeeper payments in your tax return depends on whether you are an employee, a Sole Trader or run your business through a discretionary trust.... Employees will include the JobKeeper as salaries and wages. This information will come into the tax return with the prefill data. If you’re a sole trader who has received JobKeeper payments, you need to include the payments as business income in your individual tax return.
