24.01.2022 Finally got the new wiper motor installed but need to connect the hoses. The bonnet hinges and cable connected. Front guards are on but not fully as they need to be worked on. Regulator needs to be replaced and horn needs fixing. fit the bonnet and that should be finally finishing off the engine bay!

20.01.2022 Finally got the old girl running and out of the shed since it arrived in Nov 2017! Brakes need adjustment still and need to fix horn, indicators, temp and oil gauges. Then the fun stuff starts stripping out the interior!!!

19.01.2022 ANZAC DAY. Remember those who went to war to give us peace..... Lest We Forget They shall not grow old, as we that are left grow old. Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning we will remember them.

17.01.2022 Got my first set of twin X2 carbies!! Fully restored to original specs!! YAY!!!!

14.01.2022 Starting to get the front end together, exhaust manifold fixed, thermostat housing fixed, new exhaust in, need to bleed brakes, get spark leads, hook up gear linkage and check electrics..... Lol still a bit to do.

14.01.2022 Even though the subframe is finished, im taking the time to work on the motor before its difficult to reach and repair......as the parts have come off, the normal things that wear out need to be replaced, gaskets, hoses, plugs, leads, etc. the exhuast manifold has the 2 bolts broken off in it so needs to be fixed, also the thermostat housing has a difficult old temp gauge stuck so will need to be carefully removed. But other than that its all going ahead a bit each day!! :)... hope you are all enjoying your HR Holden Restorations.

13.01.2022 I haven’t touched the old HR for a couple of months but now I’m about ready to start work on the floors and the boot section as I need to take out the old fuel tank and fix the big holes!!! I haven’t done a welding job like this before so should be a good learning curve....... Any advice would be welcomed!!!!!

11.01.2022 Finally finished the last brake cylinder replacement on the last wheel!!! Yay! Bleed brakes is next and then adjust the brake pads. Looked like it was the original brake cylinders and probably never removed before as the bolts thread holding it in looked new!! Pretty good for 50 years old!

11.01.2022 Finally got the boot floor for the wagon! Can’t wait to start cutting and welding!!!

11.01.2022 Getting closer to starting the car for the first time!! Then I can move the car and work on the rest of the body lol

10.01.2022 Spring is finally here and I can get into the shed to start cutting out the rust!!! This is going to be fun!!! Need to do the floor and anything else I can find in the main part of the body before I start on the doors and tailgate, bonnet etc, etc. So I might be texting people for ideas lol

09.01.2022 Finally got the subframe on the HR and the new auto mounting bracket connected, tailshaft and handbrake cable will be next! YAY!

08.01.2022 Front end almost back together 100% and fully working!! Still have the goal to get the car 100% complete and working before I do the body work. Takes a while to get parts that are missing, still have to hook up the hoses for the wiper motor and a couple of rubber parts in the engine bay then I can strip the interior.

06.01.2022 Got the old fuel tank out and the original rear shocks. Now to work out where the new floor will fit in correctly and still have small holes to fix. All fun hey!!!!

04.01.2022 finally got the old girl running!!... first time in maybe a decade or more! Need to replace the water pump and get the radiator serviced. Also still need to adjust the brakes before i can move it out of the shed so it doesnt go rolling down the hill..... LOL Also had to replace the coil, distributer and the fuel pump. I will restore the old ones later. Still looking for X2 headers, had almost got some, but someone had stolen them from the guy i was going to purchase from! Sad and totally wrong!! i hope they get caught.

04.01.2022 Working on the old front drum brakes yesterday and needed to replace the brake cylinder, 50 year old I’m guessing and all rusted up! Only 3 more wheels to fix lol

01.01.2022 Finally got the last hub of the rear drum wheel, 2 hours of hitting, a can of WD40 and some bruised knuckles lol found out was rusted on the inner circle and probably hasn’t been off for about 20-30 years!!! Now I need to replace the brake cylinder.....
