22.01.2022 Artificial intelligence (AI) brings some huge benefits to health care, such as assisting in medical decision making and management, but experts including HRI's Professor Ben Freedman say caution is wise. In a paper published in the Medical Journal of Australia, they write that many hurdles need to be resolved before AI tools can be put into daily use in medicine, such as data quality and ownership, transparency in governance, trust in AI, and legal responsibility. https://bit.ly/35pPdse

18.01.2022 HRI research has found that eHealth tools used in rural Australian general practices are helping to reduce gaps in screening and treatment for atrial fibrillation - a common heart rhythm disorder linked to 1 in 3 strokes - for at-risk people.
