22.01.2022 At the most recent WIH meeting on Wednesday with the NSW group, we discussed researcher/storyteller Dr Brené Brown. If you haven't heard of her or heard her speak, I highly recommend listening to some of her TED Talks. This discussion revealed a reading list of some of Brene's books which I will share with you all now: 'Rising Strong', 'Dare to Lead' and 'Daring Greatly'. If you have read any of these books please consider sharing with your Mentor or Mentee. If you can recommend any others, please list in the comments. Happy reading!

05.01.2022 Thank you to our Mentors and Mentees for taking part in the mid-program review yesterday. I’m working on a brief survey to follow up on yesterday’s discussion and it will also give everyone the opportunity to discuss things in more detail. Your feedback is vital in helping us improve the program. Keep an eye out for the survey - if not today then early next week. Invitations to Session 4 will also be going out today.... 05.01.2022 Thank you to everyone that attended the #hire19 Women in Hire breakfast last week. We are extremely grateful to our amazing panel: Jodie Grech, Braden Murrin, Michelle Samson, Elise Kelsey, Marina Pitisano and Kevin Ennis. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and thoughts about the program and how we can support women in our industry. We learned so much this year including how much the program has helped our male mentors. It just shows how much we all still have to learn abou...t each other and what we need to succeed in our careers. It isn't just about women and it is not 'man-bashing'. There are legitimate issues women face in our male dominated industry. The program is designed to give women the courage they may lack to speak up, be heard and take control of their careers.
