10.01.2022 The Australian Government has introduced the First Home Loan Deposit Scheme to support first home buyers to purchase a home sooner. It does this by providing a guarantee that will allow eligible first home buyers to buy with a deposit of as little as 5% without needing to pay for lenders mortgage insurance. The guarantee IS NOT a cash payment or deposit for the home loan. BUT HURRY the scheme started on 1 January 2020 and only provides for 10,000 loans per financial year.
