21.01.2022 Data and evidence is about numbers and outcomes. But what counts to Australian politicians? Votes or lives....?

19.01.2022 Today our good friend Assoc. Prof. Graham Brown has his last day at ARCSHS before leaving and re-appearing at UNSW’s Centre for Social Impact. Although we fully expect to continue to work with you Graham, Harm Reduction Victoria would like to wish you well in your new adventures, and thank you for everything you have done in partnership with us over the years. The W3 (What Works and Why) project, and your work with us more broadly, is a leading example of true, meaningful in...volvement of peers in research we wish was the norm. More than that W3 gives us something that lives beyond a few academic papers and actually gives organisations like ours and Living Positive Victoria an amazing framework to understand and explain the way that our peer processes work and contribute to the sector, the community and society. Graham has been ridiculously generous with his time over the years and he never fails to put community leadership and peer workers and our processes at the centre. The Centre for Social Impact is getting a gem and knowing that there he will be able to work on the wider systemic and structural issues that impact upon people who use and inject drugs is really exciting. Good luck Graham! See more

12.01.2022 In April, the Harm Reduction Conference made the difficult but necessary decision to postpone their forthcoming conference. HRVic is pleased, as a partner with Harm Reduction International, AIVL, ASHM & INHSU, to let you know that the next Harm Reduction International conference (HR21) will take place on the rescheduled dates of 1-4 December 2021. The main event will take place in Melbourne as planned and there will also be a virtual element to the event. We thank our colleagues and partners for their support and encouragement. As they have been reminding us, great things happen when the harm reduction community comes together. Stay tuned for the conference theme announcement later this month; registration will open in January 2021.
