25.01.2022 Daniel Andrews’ disastrous decision to severely restrict the 2021 duck hunting season has delivered a massive blow to Gippsland businesses and recreational hunt...ers. Today I visited H&S Firearms in Sale and Heart Morass with Rick Foster from Morwell Field & Game. Rick is also a former President of Field & Game Australia. Rick like many Field & Game Australia members has spent thousands of volunteer hours rebuilding Heart Morass from a barren wasteland into thriving wetland. Now Daniel Andrews is restricting law abiding hunters’ access into the habitat they worked hard to regenerate. Labor’s decision is not based on the science it’s all about politics. After a wet year and favourable duck numbers in the region, Gippsland’s hunters and local businesses should have been delivered a positive announcement, instead Labor has shot them down. I support people’s right to harvest food through hunting and fishing and organisations such as Field and Game should be commended and rewarded for their efforts instead of being continually punished and vilified by Daniel Andrews. I will continue to campaign for a full 12 week season and push against Labor’s stealth like campaign to kill off duck hunting #vicnats Sale Field & Game Orbost Field & Game Inc.
