25.01.2022 HSBL SEASON 2020-21 A quick update for all our members and supporters on how we are looking as far as COVID-19 and a return to baseball goes. The Baseball Tasmania Executive in consultation with our clubs have been working on implementing a number of new initiatives this season, however everything hinges on being able to officially return to the diamond. So, whilst we eagerly await the official Dept of Sport & Rec sign-off on our COVID-19 Return to Play plan, we can let you ...know that all going well, our HSBL season will commence on the weekend of 17-18 October. We will have a four team Division 1 - with the inclusion of an All-Stars team. Our Division 2 roster will consist of seven or eight teams. The exact number of rounds is yet to be finalised. The league understands that with COVID-19 having a huge effect on some families, fees is an issue. We can confirm that fees to play will be less than last year - which is good news for everyone. Now would be a good time for returning players to contact your club about your playing intentions, and re-registering. 24.01.2022 EOI: COACH/MANAGER OF DIV 1 TEAM The Baseball Tas committee is seeking expressions of interest for a Coach/Manager for an All-Stars Div 1 team. The team will mainly consist of Div 2 players who wish to gain experience in Div 1, as well as Div 1 players needing more pitching opportunity. These are additional games, as payers will still play for their regular club. Your role as Coach/Manager will include game day management of the team, and coordinating player availability with other clubs. Player/Managers are also eligible to apply. The first Div 1 clash was a come from behind victory for the Orioles over the Athletics 6-5. In the final Div 1 game the Blue Jays defeated the All Stars 13-7.... 19.01.2022 Another excellent day at the ball park today Game 1 had the grey jays defeat Orioles Black Game 2 had the O’s def the rookie all stars (who looked great in their new uniforms) Game 3 which was the best of the day had the Blue jays play white sox The jays were consistent with the bat and backed up their young pitches. The Sox decided to swing their bats in the last to rally from a 7-1 deficit to clinch a thrilling 8-7 victory...
