25.01.2022 ATTENTION HUBERT ENTRANTS! With the May event fast approaching I thought I would touch base and put out a few need to knows to help with planning. 1. This wil...l be the last Hubert. 2. If you haven’t done so, I highly recommend you book your accommodation now. Numbers are tracking to be our biggest field ever, so get in touch with either Wilpena Pound Resort (closest accommodation) or Rawnsley Park (approx 20mins drive to the event) or Skytrek Willow Springs (approx 30mins drive). 3. 100 mile and 100km runners MUST be entered by March 30 2020. This is because we place our tracker order with UK-based Yellow Brick on April 1. If you withdraw from the event after that date we can transfer that tracker to a new entrant. 50km and Marathon entrants still have until the Sunday before to enter. Other info is on the event page ultrasa.com.au/events/hubert-100/ I hope your training is going well! -Ben
24.01.2022 It's not often you get to see your trophies being hand made!
24.01.2022 How many of you felt like this on the weekend?
23.01.2022 Photos from the Hubert 100 are now available on our Bluemelon page: http://www.bluemelon.com/ultrarunnerssa/hubert1002019 Please tag them #Hubert100 if you use them on social media.
23.01.2022 Good morning everyone just an update on entry dates and prices for next year’s Hubert on May 8-9. The second tier discount price is meant to end on August 31. The discount is 10% off the full price. After August 31 the prices shown will increase to their final amount. However given the current situation with borders, and the fact that a number of runners travel from interstate for the event, the reduced price will be held over for interstaters until there is some degree of ce...rtainty that borders will be open in time for the event. For the SA entrants, the cutoff date will be kept as the same. However if you’d like to break the payments into two I can organise that for you, as long as the first half is paid by August 31. Please email me if this is an option you’d like to take up [email protected] And for those who have requested refunds for this year, please know I am about halfway through the list. There were quite a number of requests so it’s taken a bit of time to get to everyone. As turnover slowly picks up again the rate of refunds will also increase. Thanks for your patience though, it’s been much appreciated. For everyone looking at running next year, be sure to get in early with your accommodation bookings as they (mostly referring to Wilpena Pound Resort) can sell out of the most popular options quite early. Thanks everyone, hope you are having a good weekend! -Ben
23.01.2022 Hi everyone just to let you know I have created a new website for the Hubert event: www.hubert100.com.au The bones are up, I am just yet to upload vital info such as maps, notes, aid station cutoff times etc but I am pleased with the fresh look so far! Please head here from now on to view event details and also to put in your entry. I will continually be adding information and will post here when they are made so you know when to look.... Thanks! Less than four months to go....
21.01.2022 If you’re still considering accommodation for the Hubert 100, Upalinna is certainly a spot to look at! It’s closer to Wilpena Pound than Skytrek Willow Springs and as you can see they have rave reviews.
20.01.2022 Early Bird entry update. As promised, an update on the extension of the Early Bird pricing for our interstate friends for next year's Hubert 100 on May 8-9. Currently anyone other than travelers from Victoria are now able to enter South Australia.... However WA and Tasmanian residents returning to their home state are still restricted in doing so. So this offer is for all other interstaters. Once borders are free-flowing between WA and TAS then I will update the details on how they can access this reduced price. (Info on border restrictions can be found at https://www.healthdirect.gov.au/covid19-restriction-chec//) So until October 18 (three weeks away) any of our intrepid running buddies from QLD/NT/ACT/NSW can use the code HUBISTATE12021 for their 10% off and an entry into South Australia's most spectacular ultramarathon event in the Ikara-Flinders Ranges. Entry link is at https://ultrasa.com.au/registration-mercha/hubert-100-2020/ Don't believe anything those pesky ABC editors say about dying of boredom in SA. One thing this event will guarantee you is that you will certainly never be bored!
20.01.2022 please like and share our page see if we can get to 600 likes. Here is a painting I am working on at the moment (moon man story )
20.01.2022 Congratulations to all #Hubert100 runners, support crew and volunteers for being part of a truly special event. Due to popular demand we're placing a second and... final order for our 2019 Hubert 100 t-shirts and singlets this Friday May 10 2019. Pre-order yours through our merchandise page. They should be available to pick up in about 3 weeks, or you can have them mailed out to you. https://ultrasa.com.au/merchandise/ Wadna Yura, PRIME Sports and Apparel, Hubert 100
19.01.2022 Attention Hubert entrants. It is with a heavy heart that I announce the postponement of the 2020 Hubert 100 event. It has become clear that with the almost-dai...ly tightening of restrictions due to COVID-19 the event will become unviable for many to attend, and will be irresponsible for me to attempt to stage anyway. With the support of Alan and Quinten from In The Flinders I am tentatively rescheduling for the weekend of May 1-2 2021. This will be confirmed at a later date. Those of you who are are already entered have the option of transferring to the 2021 event, or a credit into another event. This is obviously my preferred option. However if you have no choice but to request a refund then please email me [email protected] There is no cutoff date for refund requests. Bear in mind though that there may be a number of requests so the refund may not be able to be actioned immediately. Given we are so close to the event for 2020 this has been an incredibly hard decision to make. Time, effort, and monies have already gone into the event by many people, organisers, entrants, and volunteers alike. But in our current climate this is the correct decision. We still have events scheduled for June 7 (Cleland 50), July 11 (Adelaide 24 Hour), and September 27 (Adelaide 6 Day). With the situation changing constantly I am going to wait until four weeks prior to these events before announcing their final status. If you are to enter these events this year, and they are unable to go ahead, they will be postponed to 2021 as well. And to be 100% frank entries made this year will really help the business get through these times, where turnover from events is at a standstill. Thank you for your patience and understanding, and sincerest apologies to everyone affected by this news. The business and myself personally (like many others) are about to go through a very rough time so your understanding is very much appreciated. -Ben
14.01.2022 If you haven’t had a chance to read The Last Explorer (or even if you have) this is a great write up of Sir Wilkins’ life and achievements. Highly recommended reading!
13.01.2022 Today’s the last day for (non WA/TAS/VIC) Early Birds. Don’t forget to copy and paste the code from below!
12.01.2022 As we count down to the start of the Hubert 100 tomorrow we'd like to remind you that the 100 miles and 100 km runners can be tracked via the YB website and/or app. Links are on our website: https://ultrasa.com.au/events/hubert-100/#tracking
12.01.2022 Just a reminder to all SA locals that the final Early Bird price ends this coming Monday night for next year's Hubert May 8-9. Entry link is at https://ultrasa.com.au/events/hubert-100/ I had a good chat with a workmate yesterday about his recent travels up to the Ikara-Flinders Ranges. Some of the pics he showed me wished I could go up there again immediately!... I'm sure many of you are itching to travel-run again, so by next May we will be well and truly ready to hit the Ranges, to feel the crunch of the dirt underfoot, smell that outside air, and take in the magnificent vistas. And hopefully feel like the extra long wait for this staging of the event was worth it! -Ben
11.01.2022 Hi everyone an update re Hubert. We are also working on contingencies should the mass gathering threshold drop to 100, or even 50. This will allow us to proceed with the event, with some tweaks to factor in the increased focus on the health of everyone who comes up. -Ben
10.01.2022 For those entered or entering the 100km or 100mile events these are the trackers that you’ll be carrying (specs are contained within the link). They will need to be worn either on top of your shoulder or as close to the top of your shoulder as possible. The antenna always needs to be exposed to the sky so it cannot be obscured by anything. They are a reasonable size but only because they are legit off-grid trackers which require decent power to send and receive signals.... The interface for organisers and for others who are watching is easy to use and provides great live updates on entrant positions. More details on how the interface works will be put out closer to the event. -Ben

02.01.2022 Some amazing sights coming out of the Ikara Flinders Ranges today!
02.01.2022 This little mallee parrot is cheering the #hubert100 100Mile runners. This race started at 10am. First runners through Outside Track (up and over Tanderra Sadd...le) David Turnbull 11.46 (1 hour 46 minutes) James Duffy 11.51 Matthew Jessup 11.53 Jared Webb 12.16 Zoey Duffy 12.16 Robbie Wickham 12.17 David Turnbull has now been through Wilcolo Track (35km) (1.09 pm). Unfortunately David has taken a wrong turn after leaving Wilcolo Track, leaving his crew to chase him and get him back on track. We love tracking our runners on the YB trackers. James Duffy has left Wilcolo Track on the correct path. #ursa #hubert100 #ultrarunners #runners
