14.01.2022 The Corona virus has impacted everyone. The Qld Government's proposed Covid-19 protections will seriously harm over 600,000 property owners in Qld who provide the vast majority of rental housing. Failure to ensure both tenants and landlords rights are protected during these times will harm landlords now, but ultimately also impact tenants in the future, as inadequate protections for ALL parties will likely result in the reduction of the 35% of private housing being available ...in Qld, as investors won't be confident their interests are protected should we face a pandemic such as this again. Our parliament sits next Wednesday. It is disappointing to have to promote such issues at this time when our days can be better spent helping those who really need it, but whilst we have an opportunity to voice our concerns, I encourage all owners and tenants to review the changes proposed, weigh up the likely outcomes of such proposals, and forward your concerns to our Premier while we still can.
