21.01.2022 HCP High Flow Lintels for the Stormy Season Approaching! Following the high intensity storm events of 2016, HCP worked closely with local authorities including the City of Launceston to develop locally manufactured HIGH FLOW LINTEL, which are a whopping 3600mm long. These units are ideal for extreme flow and flood-prone situations where the normal 1200mm or even the HCP custom double 2400mm lintels need more capacity to remove surface flows quickly.

20.01.2022 This time last year I was lucky enough to be in France by coincidence as Bauma had just finished. I took the opportunity to visit the Australian War Memorial on the Somme with my family. I would like to thank all of our staff past and present for their service. #lestweforget #anzacday

09.01.2022 Hudson Civil Products is proud to have provided precast products and support for a project that will improve the safety of road users on level crossings in Tasmania. The innovative Edilon-Sidra Embedded Rail System, a precast concrete crossing system used internationally, is now available in Tasmania thanks to a collaborative development process between TasRail and Edilon-Sidra. The special units provided will enhance longevity and durability of key crossing sites across the... State. Installed by Tasmanian contractor GRADCO, these units were built and assembled in our facility with collaboration from all parties to ensure the site works were undertaken without a hitch and in minimum time. A key driver for rail installations is speed and efficiency to limit shut down time on the line, and precast products from Hudson Civil Products deliver on this every time! A job well done by all of the parties involved in this first installation in Tasmania - look out for more of these projects over coming months.

09.01.2022 Ronnie is drilling big holes today!

08.01.2022 New software day.... We are moving from AutoCad to AllPlan and it's back to school for a few of us... very different but extremely powerful. The major benefit is the accuracy and easy output of reinforcing schedules and all information being in the one file.

07.01.2022 Contractor & HCP collaboration again leads to successful project outcome Local contractor Temby Civil is often tasked with the complex jobs, and the extension of the Blackman Dam outlet was no exception. Attempting to eliminate significant erosion at the original outlet zone, this project required some careful site investigation works and a novel solution to connect the existing large bore MSCL outlet pipe to the new 900 HDPE, with limited as constructed data available, cha...llenging operating limitations to maintain service, and avoiding disturbance of key dam features and nearby drainage. Undertaken with a tight install timeframe and requiring careful preparation and custom made fittings, the Temby team collaborated closely with Hudson Civil and our partners at HB Engineering to provide specialized connections, bends and fittings to make sure the installation exercise went off without a hitch, picking up on various issues along the way that could have otherwise created problems during an install effort and ensuring these risks were mitigated. As usual it pays to have an experienced team with the right skills working on these types of jobs to maximize success - well done Chris and team!

05.01.2022 All ready for last weeks back to school rush was the great traffic safety project completed by The Baker Group in Eden Street near Riverside Primary School, for their client West Tamar Council. The Baker Groups crews worked hard with a tight time frame to install new drainage, kerbing, pavement, traffic islands, signage and fencing using a range of HCP elements to make life easier on site working collaboratively to ensure these vital safety improvements could be completed before school students rocked up for the start of a new year. Outstanding work by all involved! #bakergroup #backtoschool #roadsafety #urbanrenewalwork #HCP

05.01.2022 Cracking day for laying pipe!

04.01.2022 Cut & Bend supply 100% of HCPs reinforcing. The savings made are not just in dollar terms, time is probably more important these days not to mention flexibility! With lead times a thing of the past give Cut & Bend a call! #Tassieowned #buylocal

03.01.2022 We look forward to tomorrows announcement!

02.01.2022 Doing our bit to make it rain! Over recent years HB Engineering have been involved with work across several irrigation schemes throughout Tasmania. With the ro...ll out of the Scottsdale Irrigation Scheme well underway, we were brought in to the fold to supply components throughout various sections of the scheme. Teaming up with Hudson Civil Products we have been working tirelessly on the assembly and installation of over 100 property outlet pipe assemblies as well as the fabrication and installation of the outlet enclosures. These outlet enclosures have evolved over the years and are of a design that has been put together between HB Engineering, Hudson Civil Products and Tasmanian Irrigation collectively. The enclosures are fully insulated which eliminates any risk of outlets freezing over the colder months and allows for livestock grazing in the area without the risk of damage to the sensitive pipework components within. We can happily say that this design has been perfected over time and we are incredibly proud to offer a top quality product that exceeds client requirements and expectations. Our workshop team has been incredibly busy with the assembly of the pipework components which bridge the gap between the irrigation main lines and the farmer, with all outlets assembled and tested in house to ensure quality control is maintained, thus reducing down time during the commissioning stage. Outlet enclosure fabrication has seen HB Engineering expand our workforce to meet project requirements with a lot of aluminium and cladding happening the guys are working like a well oiled machine. Following assembly and fabrication we have also been installing these items. We have been making good use of our crane truck to get this happening. The crane makes the installation incredibly efficient and we are able to take a one-stop approach to the installation, eliminating the need for additional plant to head to site. We are proud to say that the team working on this particular project have risen to the occasion, yet again, and delivered a great end product. The irrigation industry certainly growing in Tasmania and we are proud to have been able to contribute to the future proofing of farms within our great state!

02.01.2022 It’s definitely the silly season already so it’s all paws on deck to meet the rush! Richard is now on board to assist anyone who’s lead time needs tweaking!

02.01.2022 Proving that a watched mold will still set this week as opposed to a watched pot never boiling ?
