22.01.2022 Two weeks ago this happened! Not the quickest on social media and rather hopeless with my phone but thanks to all my beautiful clients for all the well wishes. In case you missed my full birth story (not the advocate one), here it is! I think all birth stories are beautiful and amazing, I chose to share this one because through this unprecedented time there is/can be a lot of fear around birth and what it may look like... but we can overcome this and still have a beautiful birth! Enjoy! Xx

22.01.2022 Happy New Year to this lovely community Bec is teaching a light January timetable while I’m in Sydney so sessions filling fast! With the state our country is in, this year we will donate profits from January to the Treading Lightly Inc bushfire appeal to help the people and wildlife of the south coast of NSW. ... To see their work at ground level alongside our wonderful Fire fighters, check out their Facebook page They have a community heart, passion for the environment, intent to help local businesses rebuild, and they connect & collaborate with our First Nation’s people, from whom we can learn so much with regard to land care and much more. So in addition to whatever prayers/donations/good vibes you are already sending.. your health kickstart for 2020 will also be helping out our interstate neighbours Space still left in Wed 5.15pm group class. SMS 0414436170 to book. Stay tuned for an extra Pilates mat work fundraiser late January when I return! Ali x Ps This little burnt leaf that washed up whilst visiting my family on the central coast of NSW was a poignant reminder for me to take care of what we have - health, family, community and our earth. It also kind of still beautifully represented a connection between those of us that perhaps feel a little powerless and those at the forefront. We are with you x

22.01.2022 Actually, this post by my sister is even more pertinent to my most recent Pilates epiphany. I've just revisited the impact of Pilates on the lymphatic system - especially in light of children (in particular one of my darlings) and asthma symptoms. Lightbulb moment.. The lower lobe of the lungs don't get filtered properly when we don't pump the air through properly.. We can't pump the air through properly when our posture doesn't allow it! It may not look like poor posture to... the untrained eye but in simple terms, when the ribs flare forward too much it tightens the muscles at the back of the rib cage and blocks the flow! So here is to my boys beginning their Pilates for kids journey. They both move a lot already and swing from my equipment but it's time to correct some of those patterns and get that lymph system pumping properly! What better way than the hundred! See more

03.01.2022 I'm back!! A snapshot of my weekly progressions in order. The last clip was yesterday. It is one of Jimi's absolute favourite pastimes (and mine). From barely being able to play marbles with my toes to this 5 weeks later after a big blunt force trauma - which felt more like a car accident than a basketball injury.. I'm wrapped! Playing actively with my kids was the absolute number one goal from the start! It turns out the impact also caused some tearing in the muscle/tendons... as suspected but all is healing super well! Thanks so much again for all the well wishes, calls, messages, prayers, help, support, guidance, meals, treatments, reassurance and hugs! If I'd known I'd feel this much better in 5 weeks, I would never have felt so panicked!! A big shout out to my sister Meliss, where on earth would I be without Pilates rehab, trust in the body to heal itself and all those phenomenal natural remedies?!? Quite possibly still in debilitating pain! So much gratitude to all my super family... If you've never tried homeopathy before, look into it. It's incredible. Namely Traumeel as a combination remedy. Magnesium also. This in combination with Pilates, osteopathy/chiropractic/kinesiology and physio has helped me heal way quicker than expected. Thanks again to physio Ryan Carroll for your expertise, care and time! So I'm finally back to full swing of the studio, thanks to all of my clients for your patience and understanding and again, thanks to Bec for stepping up! I think just about every day Angus commented on how much better my movement seemed, even days when I was moving like a turtle. God bless him and Jimi, and of course Ade, who has decided that nursing is just not for him!!! As for basketball, scar tissue is in remodelling phase now so getting back to my major movements is important for it to heal the right way - movement is therapy! So I've been back on the court to train and feel great! Yes of course I will be mindful. My body knows the deal! I'm just super stoked to have achieved goal number 1 Essay finished
