21.01.2022 Hi everyone. Just wanted to add something to our post earlier in the week about the negative feedback we have been hearing from so many people about ugg boots they have bought, locally and on-line. Most uggies bought online are made with one thing in focus....how cheap the boot can be made and the profit margin. We hear feedback that some of these ugg boot stores try and claim they are 'The real ugg boot' or 'the original ugg boot'. Some even claiming they are made in Austr...alia using clever business names and marketing strategies but are simply mass produced in places like China and India. Nice glossy photos that look lovely but after a few wears the wool flattens and falls apart. A lot of the cheap boots are not even sheep skin they are lambs wool. There is a massive difference. (Google if unsure) The original ugg boots back in 1962 were made for Australians by Australians right here in Adelaide by us...Huggys. They were made strong using the best quality sheepskin and craftsmanship. They were made for the Aussie Battler and for people that have worked hard. They were made for the elderly or custom made for the disabled. Not much has changed 56 years later. We are still the same family but most of all the quality is the same as it was in the early 60's and you will always get the best 1 on 1 service whether it be at the shop at 562 North East Road, Holden Hill Monday to Saturday or the Port Adelaide markets on Sunday. 20.01.2022 We have started a campaign on Wikipedia to get the truth out there to everyone about the real origins of Charlie Spencer and John Arnold's 'ugg boot'. The reps at Wikipedia want us to start a 'talk:discussion' about Charlie Spencer. It is the only way that the truth about the origins of the 'ugg boot' will get out there. There are a lot of you old school surfers out there that know the truth and we need you to go to the Wikipedia link and start an account with them. Very easy... to do. Scroll down to the discussion for Charlie Spencer and leave your comments there and press 'publish' This is going to be the only way to get this permanently changed to the truth without the manipulation of corporate business. Power of the people. Anyone who dealt with Charlie Spencer and John Arnold Surf Shops back in the day will know that the 'ugg boot' was a creation by Charlie Spencer and registered by John Arnold. It would be especially great if there was anyone at that surf comp in Adelaide in the 1960's when all us South Aussie surfers were wearing Charlie's ugg boots to the envy of our eastern state counterparts like Shane Stedman who ripped off his design and started claiming our story for his own after telling papers about his discovery in South Australia. Then registering 'Ugh' because John Arnold had already registered the 'Ugg' name. There are also people that know that Shane Stedman sold Blue Mountain the 'ugg boot' pattern a long time after. Then they try to put claims on the ugg boot as well. How come noone had ever heard of them until the mid 1980's when they registered their business. It only took a couple years for the word to get out about Charlie's Ugg Boots to the world. Let's stand together people and take back what belongs to all South Australians. Follow this link, start a Wikipedia account and leave your comments in the 'Charlie Spencer's discussion' section. Thank you https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Ugg_boots See more

18.01.2022 Good Morning. We at Huggys Ugg Boots are wanting to start a bit of a campaign and rally the surfers from back in the day and other members of the community who know the origins of 'The Original Ugg Boot', so Charlie Spencer, a WWII veteran and John Arnold from 'John Arnolds Surf Shops' get the recognition that they deserve for creating an Australian icon. Clubs like '4 Point' and 'The Roaders' would remember Charlie pumping out Ugg Boots from his shed in Harvey Avenue, Adelai...de and people from everywhere, that were lucky enough to hear come there to get their boots. We have known for a while from feedback and newspaper clippings about some of the stories that have floated around about the origins and are quite shocked at the lies. Give you an example. Someone (don't know if we can say his name) has even said in one paper article about buying the boots from Charlie and copying the patterns to start manufacturing in Sydney. 10 years later in another article he is telling our story and claiming it for himself and saying he made them in the 50's. Totally untrue. That is just one of the stories. We have never really plugged this until now because we were getting annoyed at people saying they have bought the real ugg boot when we know they are not. 90% of the time the boots aren't even Australian even though they say it on a tag. We created the Ugg Boot for all Australians to enjoy and love and if people wanted to make a living making these around Australia we encouraged it. Ugg boots are an Australian icon, not a name to be bought and sold around the world. If you agree and want to help please like and share and remember to like Huggys Ugg Boots. We would also just like to thank Eddie Oyger from Australian Leather in Sydney for his support. We can send boots anywhere so give us a call 0408 809 715 See more

16.01.2022 This Today Tonight story is about Graeme Spencer explaining the true origins of his father Charlie Spencer's invention. There are so many lies about who created the ugg boot but there are a lot of people in Australia that know where the first ugg boot was created and sold....out of Charlie Spencer's back shed in Cowandilla and later in Netley, South Australia. Eddie Oyger, a friend of Graeme has been battling in court so that Australian manufacturers of ugg boots can export a...round the world. Deckers, an American company who manufacture their product in China and call their product 'Ugg Australia' have monopolised the market around the world, starving people of choice and stopping excellent quality ugg boots by Australian manufacturers being sold to worldwide consumers and flooding the market with cheap Chinese product. Cutting a long story short a Sydney sider by the name of Shane Stedman who registered the name 'Ugh' after buying 2 pairs of ugg boots from Charlie's warehouse in his back shed, took them apart to re-create the ugg boot patterns. The 'Ugg' name was already registered by John Arnold who Charlie and Graeme had supplied to in the 1960's and onwards to his surf shops in Adelaide and at Surf, Dive and Ski shops in South Australia. Stedman sold this 'Ugh' registration to Deckers but they then started to use Charlies, Graeme Spencer's and John Arnold's 'Ugg' registration name and started trademarking 'Ugg' around the world without any consultation or compensation to the true inventors of 'Ugg'. This court battle between Eddie Oyger and Deckers is still going and Shane Stedman is also going to be summoned to court about the claims he has been spreading throughout the world in newspapers and online that he invented the ugg boot. John Arnold and Eddie Oyger are taking this all the way and will be fighting for all Australian manufacturers of the 'Ugg Boot'. We all need to support Australian manufacturers of Ugg Boots so that we can take back what belongs to all Australians, especially South Australians and not just 1 United States company. Support us by liking this post and sharing. Also support Huggys Ugg Boots by liking our page and leaving comments. We thank everyone for their support. See more

07.01.2022 Huggys Ugg Boots has had another great winter season at the Port Adelaide Wharf Markets. Thankyou to everyone who purchased some original uggs from the family who made 'ugg' an Australian icon.We will see you there next year in 2020. Alternatively, you can come and see us at 562 North East Road, Holden Hill in conjunction with Airfleece Seat Covers.

04.01.2022 You may have seen this in the headlines recently in what is a prime example of what some ugg boot companies are prepared to do to intentionally mislead consumers into thinking they are buying a quality Australian product but are mass-produced in countries like China. This is just 'the tip of the iceberg' in what has become a big problem in Australia with companies like Ozwear, using clever marketing strategies and gimmicks to increase sales and profit. We at Huggys Ugg boots ...are the original ugg boot manufacturers and are still making Charlie Spencer's (RIP) creation today. All ugg boots are manufactured on site at Airfleece Car Seat Covers 562 North East Road, Holden Hill, so you know you are buying an Australian made product. The great advantage of buying from us is you are not only getting a quality Australian made product but all repairs and re-soling can be done on site also so our customers can get the most out of their ugg boots. We can also custom make your ugg boots for for those who have difficulty in finding boots that fit their feet. For more information call Graeme Spencer on 0408 809 715 See more
