Some are so impressed by the Gorge's ...scale and grandeur that they've described the National Park as Australia's very own mini Grand Canyon! Whatever the nickname however, the wow factor remains the same; this place is a resolute 10/10 must-do on the bucket list for outback Queensland travel. You're welcome to access Porcupine Gorge National Park's lookouts and walking tracks, however, phone ahead or drop into the Flinders Discovery Centre to arrange a permit for a camping spot if you plan to stay overnight. 02.01.2022 QUEENSLAND BORDER CLOSURE | From 1am Saturday August 8th the Queensland border will be closed to NSW and ACT, this means: All visitors will be denied entry ex...cept for rare exemptions. Returning Queenslanders will have to pay for 14 days mandatory hotel quarantine. Only residents of border communities and essential workers, such as truck drivers, will be able to cross the border. Exemptions including for compassionate reasons will be limited. Passes for border communities will be for those with proof of address and photo ID.
