01.01.2022 NEW LAWS - welcome to HELL AND THE DEMISE OF your communities local businesses. As per Scott Morrison’s announcement today the state government has created a new law that; In a given occupied space, there must be a density of no more than one person per four square metres of floor space. For example, if the space is 200sqm then it can accommodate no more than 50 people including staff.... WHAT THIS MEANS: The Great Western Hotel can ONLY HAVE 30 people at any one time in the building. We will work on delivery solutions. Bottle shop operations will continue and we will advise the community to some changes to mitigate this damage. We do not support these new measures and are fearful for the future of our regional communities. We have only been advised late this afternoon by the office of liquor and gaming. Please see there email below. Personally, we are tempted to rebel as no matter how many fines we receive we will along with many other businesses not have the cash to pay for it. We encourage all our communities to speak up against these measures in regional QLD. Whilst we understand the importance of minimising the spread of COVID-19 we don’t believe these measures are necessary in regional QLD as there has been no positive results returned. Limit travel of non essential citizens and let communities like ours ride this wave without implementing the heavy hand of blanket policy. Bless everyone, extremely rough times ahead.
