25.01.2022 Queen’s musical masterpiece, ‘Bohemian Rhapsody,’ captures, I think, one of the great ironies of life. I don’t wanna die,’ cries the orator, only to add, ‘I sometimes wish I’d never been born at all. He doesn’t want to die because he knows the value of life, but faced with the prospect of losing it, he can’t help feeling that he’d have been better off never having tasted it at all. It is troubling isn’t it? The greatest gift we have, the gift of life, is the very thing we a...re unable to hold onto. The more we live, the more we stand to lose. And this is where the Christian message really stands up. Whilst every one else is busy trying to hold onto the very thing they will one day lose, Christians are called to give it up, believing that when they do God will graciously give it back. Jesus laid down His life only to take it up again. So too, men and women who lay there lives down for the sake of the Gospel, will do likewise. No one wants to die, not really. But when we do, and we all will, it’s comforting to know that when we willingly lay it down, God can be trusted to give it back. Have a blessed week, I’m Pastor Duncan

24.01.2022 When I was in the UK I had the great privilege of stepping aboard HMS VICTORY. For some it’s probably no big deal, but for me it was simply awesome. It was in this very ship that Admiral Lord Nelson orchestrated the defeat of the French and Spanish Navies at the Battle of Trafalgar. It may even be why you and I speak English today and not French. Some events in history stand out don’t they. Trafalgar, D-Day, the fall of the Berlin Wall, Julius Caesar’s crossing the Rubicon - ...events that helped shape the world and have had a lasting effect. But you know what? Nothing compares, nothing even comes close to the day a carpenter from Nazareth named Jesus was crucified. That single event was the turning point in history. His crucifixion and subsequent resurrection changed the world forever. Men and women are still being freed from the power of sin because of it. Lives are still being transformed, marriages are still being saved, broken lives are being mended, hurts are being healed, wrongs are being righted, the dead are being raised to life. All because one man who was rejected by the world sacrificed His own life so that we might find forgiveness. HMS VICTORY - awesome. The cross of Christ - nothing comes close. 24.01.2022 Yes, it's over, the kids are gone What's the use of tryin' to hang on? Somewhere we lost the key So little left for you and me and it's clear to see (Johnny Mathis and Deniece Williams, 1978)... Sound familiar? Many, many couples, after they’ve raised the kids and are finally left to themselves, go their separate ways. Their glue, their reason for staying together is their children. I think that is admirable. I really do. But that kind of glue is eventually bound to come undone. Anything that holds a man and a woman together outside of the firm, loving grip of our Heavenly Father often fails. But when couples willingly come under the Lordship of Jesus, relationships are strengthened, renewed, and refreshed. Now that shouldn’t surprise us. After all, He is able to breathe new life into dry old bones. Why should we think He isn’t able to fan into flame a love that lasts and grows stronger? Johnny Mathis and Deniece Williams lament that ‘somewhere we lost the key.’ I’m here to say that Jesus IS the key. If your love for your wife or your husband is less than it should be, and whose isn’t, can I suggest that you both take it to Jesus. Have a blessed week, I’m Pastor Duncan

23.01.2022 Keeping score is, I think, in our blood. It’s a part of our DNA. Rushing home to watch the game, we turn on the tv asking ourselves, what’s the score? We keep score because by it we know who is winning and who is losing. And when at last the final siren sounds, the team with the most points wins. We sometimes treat life a bit like that don’t we? Our relationships are often determined by the ledger. We assign to one another a number of points and should someone overstep the ...mark the points begin to add up - a point here, a point there, until finally we lose our patience and write them off. The apostle Paul, however, says that real love is not like that. And that’s because God’s love is not like that. God loves us no matter how often we offend. God’s love can never be exhausted. Those upon whom God’s love rests can never, ever use it up. So too, the love we show to one another, if it’s like God’s love, always finds a way to give second and third and fourth chances. It is, says Paul, inexhaustible. And so the next time you’re tempted to write someone off, just think about that. Have a blessed week, I’m Pastor Duncan

23.01.2022 What’s your biggest fear I wonder? You want to know what mine is? Actually I have a mixed bag. I carry them around with me wherever I go. Here’s just a few. I fear being misunderstood. I fear saying the wrong thing. I fear upsetting those I love. I fear rejection. And I especially fear that when I share the Gospel it will be treated with contempt. That those who hear it will ignore it as if it didn’t matter. When you know what’s at stake you cannot help but fear for those who... ignore it, or refuse it, or think it’s nothing more than religious nonsense, or a set of rules. I am surprised at how all consuming the Gospel has become in my life. It’s what I think about as I lie in bed. It’s what occupies my thoughts for much of the day. It convicts me when I behave poorly. It causes me to repent when I speak shamefully. But it also makes me weep when I think of my Saviour’s love for me. It makes me sing when I gather with God’s people. It gives me hope when I’m teetering on the verge of despair. It whispers in my ear that I am loved by my God. I guess it’s true to say then, that the reason for my greatest joy, is also the reason for my greatest fear. Have a blessed week, I’m Pastor Duncan

23.01.2022 Sometimes the future isn’t so clear is it? The best we can hope for, it seems to me, is that when we wake up, the day won’t hit us with an unexpected curveball. But what do we do when it does? I mean, where do we turn when our hopes are suddenly shattered? I have been told a number of times during my brief 55 years on this earth, news I didn’t want to hear. News I wasn’t ready to receive. Devastating news. Knock you over so that you can’t get back up kind of news. And as pain...ful and as unwelcome as such news can be, I am convinced that the best place to be is in God’s hands, and the best place to turn to is God’s Word. When the path is altogether unclear, it’s comforting to hear your Saviour say, Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light. Matthew 11:28-30 When the God of the Universe says that, you know you have nothing to fear. Have a blessed week, I’m Pastor Duncan

23.01.2022 Have you ever asked why?

22.01.2022 Exciting news, everyone! We are coming back to worship again in-person on Sunday, 26th July 2020! :D Watch this space for more details!

22.01.2022 Neil Armstrong had the world at His feet. Actually he had another world at his feet didn’t he - quite literally. Imagine what that must have been like. The first man ever to set foot on the moon. Well, here we all are 50 years later and despite that amazing feat not a lot has changed. Sure, there have been great advances in medicine and science and, in the West at least, our standard of living. But deep down, at the very core of our being not much has changed at all. What was... supposed to be one giant leap for mankind, is really nothing more than one small step. It just happened to take place some 384, 400 km away. What exactly do I mean by that? What I mean is this. Our world looks a little different, sure it does. But people are still the same. We haven’t really gone anywhere. We are all still in exactly the same spot we were 50 years ago. We are still afraid of dying. We still covet and lie and kill and hurt those we love. The giant leap has proved to be, in that respect at least, nothing more than wishful thinking. And the reason is staring us right in the face. The world may have changed but we haven’t. Unless, that is, you have faith in Jesus. Having faith in Jesus is in fact the giant leap everyone is looking for. He has destroyed the power of death. And because He has done that, those who have faith in Him need no longer fear it. Those who have faith in Jesus can put away coveting and lying and killing because in Jesus we find all we want and all we need, and He freely gives it all to us. And so if you have ever wanted to take one giant leap, you can. And it begins with one small step of faith. Have a blessed week, I’m Pastor Duncan

20.01.2022 The book of James is a great book for a whole lot of reasons. One of the reasons is because James makes the obvious connection between faith and works. In the very first chapter he writes, Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. Doing plays a very big part in the Christian walk. It’s not that Christians are saved because of what they do. But Christians, because they have been saved, will respond to God’s grace by doing all sorts of thin...gs. Christians will seek to show their gratitude to God by caring for the outcast, and feeding the impoverished, and loving their neighbour. Christians will respond to the needs of others because God has responded to their own needs. That’s one of the reasons why the words ‘one another’ are so prominent in the Scriptures. In our doing we will either reflect the spirit of the world, or else we will reflect the Spirit of the living God. The Spirit of the world is selfish. It puts self before others. It speaks boastfully. It condemns, it judges, it hides in the shadows so that it’s true nature is not visible. The Spirit of God on the other hand is selfless. He puts others before self. He speaks graciously, He frees captives, and forgives sinners. He directs everyone to the light so that their deeds can be exposed. It is why Jesus walked in the light. He was led by the Spirit. And that is why everyone who is drawn to Jesus and follows Him also walks in the light. What they do should increasingly reflect what Jesus Himself did and still does. And that is why James says, Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. Have a blessed week, I’m Pastor Duncan

20.01.2022 How good is the sound of Kate Bush in Wuthering Heights? The song, as with the book, is a haunting one. It tells the story of a man and a woman who love each other and hate each other - all at the same time. Out on the wiley, windy moors We'd roll and fall in green You had a temper like my jealousy... Too hot, too greedy How could you leave me When I needed to possess you? I hated you, I loved you, too The sad reality, of course, is that the story is an all too familiar one. Two people fall in love only to spend a great deal of their time fighting and pushing each other away. Children pushing their parents away. Husbands pushing their wives away. Siblings, friends, neighbours. How is it then, that people who profess to love each other can also hate each other? One moment we’re hugging and the next we’re fighting. What on earth is going on? The truth is we’re a messy lot, aren’t we? We all have within us an ugly side. There is a darkness inside the human soul that, although we have an amazing capacity for love, we also have a frightening capacity to hate and to hurt. But it doesn’t have to be that way. It really doesn’t. Jesus says, I am the light of the world. In me there is no darkness at all. When Jesus loves, He sticks with it, because Jesus doesn’t have a dark side. And when we learn to walk with Him, He has the ability to turn our darkness into light. And when that happens, lives are transformed, and love is set free. Have a blessed week, I’m Pastor Duncan

20.01.2022 Chris de Burgh wrote a great song in the early 1980s (what an unforgettable decade for music that was) entitled, Don’t pay the ferryman. The song uses images from Greek mythology concerning the journey we must all one day make, the journey through death. The ancient myth goes something like this. As mortals cross the river that leads them to the other side, they must all make payment to the ferryman before he will safely deliver them to their destination. Failure to do so w...ill leave them tormented, unable to proceed. At the heart of the myth, and at the heart of the song, is the thought that payment which will ensure our safe delivery to the other side is up to us. Isn’t that just how so many people think? As long as we have been good enough. As long as we’ve made a contribution. As long as we haven’t harmed anyone we will have earned our way. But of course there is no ferryman who will collect our payment. The Bible reveals to us that payment has already been made by God’s Son. It teaches us that our debt has been paid in full. That’s the Gospel. That’s the Good News. Jesus paid the price that we couldn’t pay. Chris de Burgh wrote a great song, but the theology, certainly from a Christian perspective, is terrible. The Gospel presents an altogether new and wonderful message. Forget about saving up your coins. Forget about counting on your own goodness. Forget about what your family or friends may say about you at your funeral. Forget about trusting that everything is going to be Ok. Trust in Jesus. Have a blessed week, I’m Pastor Duncan

19.01.2022 More than just a man...

19.01.2022 Go to Hell! I wonder, have you ever had someone say that to you? Perhaps you’ve even said it yourself, or thought it. I’m sure I have. And it really is awful isn’t it. The thought that someone might upset me so much that I’d prefer them to go to Hell is a terrible thought. I mean, am I really any better? Am I less deserving of judgement? The Bible puts it like this; We have, each one of us, gone astray. No one, in other words, is guiltless. But God, in His love for the w...orld, rather than consign us all to Hell, offers a way out. Rather than punish me for my guilt, and rather than punish you for yours, God took all of the punishment we deserve upon Himself. And the reason He did it, is so that He could offer forgiveness to all who would cry out to Him for mercy. Go to Hell? Why, when you don’t have to? Come to Jesus and exchange the punishment that you deserve for the forgiveness that is His to give. Have a blessed week, I’m Pastor Duncan

19.01.2022 When I was young, long before I was a Christian, I used to believe that Charles Darwin was a bit of a fool. I really did. I mean, what on earth must he have been thinking? Now that I am old, however, I am far less critical. Quite apart from thinking him a fool, I now think he must have been an extraordinary man who had an extraordinary imagination. And whilst I cannot reconcile his conclusions with my own, one thing we do agree on is the wonder of it all. Creation, as Charles... Darwin understood so very well, really is stunning. It is an amazing and beautiful place filled with endless possibilities. Surely there must be a reason to it all. Surely there is more to life than just time and chance. And so, unlike Darwin who had an extraordinary imagination, I’m afraid I’m not that brilliant. I think I’ll stick with these 4 words, In the beginning God. Have a blessed week, I’m Pastor Duncan

14.01.2022 There are some words that make your mouth water. Take ‘Krispy Kreme’ for example. My mouth’s watering even as I write. Words are great like that. Words affect us in a myriad of ways don’t they. Some words make us want to cry. Other words make us want to laugh. And some words like ‘Krispy Kreme’ make our mouths water. Words do things to us - they change our thoughts, they prompt us to stop or to go. Words can even change our lives. Take for instance the words ‘I do’ and the wo...rd ‘sorry.’ They are powerful words. And they can make a tremendous difference to the lives of those who say them and who receive them. There is however, one word that means more than any other word. John writes, In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.....The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. Full of grace and truth. No other word comes even close to that. Jesus, the Word become flesh. The very One who spoke the Universe into existence, and the One who creates in each of us who receive Him a new heart so that we might begin to live lives that honour God. Krispy Kreme still makes my mouth water. But only Jesus makes my heart sing. Have a blessed week, I’m Pastor Duncan

13.01.2022 Why is worship so important?

13.01.2022 There are few movies that have moved me as much as Schindler’s List. What an extraordinary piece of cinema. What an extraordinary man. Oscar Schindler lived during a time of madness. The world was at war and people were dying. Millions of Jews - men, women and children, were being slaughtered at the whim of an evil and soulless regime. Oscar Schindler, quite by accident it would appear, found himself risking his life to save others. All he had, he gave away so that others mig...ht have a chance at life. Did you know that Jesus also has a list? Like Oscar Schindler, Jesus also is intent on saving the lives of others. But unlike Schindler, Jesus didn’t just risk his life, He freely and willingly and intentionally gave it. And unlike Schindler, Jesus’ mission was no accident. All who find themselves on Jesus’ list don’t merely have a chance at life - they are guaranteed life. Come to me all who are weary and heavy laden and I will give you rest. Not might. Not perhaps. Not maybe. I will says Jesus. Why not put yourself in Jesus’ hands and enjoy the promise of new life? Have a blessed week, I’m Pastor Duncan

12.01.2022 The term, pay the piper, goes back a long way. Its origins may have long been forgotten but its meaning is still very much alive. Sooner or later everyone must give an account for what they’ve done. Sooner or later we all must pay the piper. When I first left the Navy to study theology I bought myself a bike to save on petrol costs. My new, rather expensive toy lasted all of one week - the first time I used it, someone stole it. One of the great benefits of Christianity is ...the grace God provides to forgive those who offend you. To this day I have no idea who took it. And whilst I’ve long since forgiven them, whoever they are, one day they are going to have to pay the piper. We all do. But what if the piper has already been paid? What if, despite all the terrible things we’ve done, despite the terrible things I’ve done, someone collected the bill and paid the piper on our behalf? Of course, that is what lies at the very heart of the Christian faith. Jesus takes my sin and your sin and pays the debt. I really do hope that whoever took my bike all those years ago now knows that wonderful truth as I do. What a great joy it will be if together we meet when Jesus returns as forgiven and redeemed children of God. And rather than having to pay the piper, we can both dance to His beautiful tune. Have a blessed week, Pastor Duncan

11.01.2022 Thank you HBC for all the kindness you’ve freely given to me and my family. God bless you...

09.01.2022 I like my day off. I have time to take my time. I have time to do nothing, if that’s what I really want to do. I have time to go out for a coffee with my wife. I have time to sit on the verandah and read a book. I have time to visit a friend. Days off are good for that. But you know what I’ve discovered? I’ve discovered that my time is not really my time at all. My time is really God’s time. If it was my time then I’d be free to please myself wouldn’t I? But I’m not free in t...hat sense, at all. Every moment of every day, including my day off, is a gift from a gracious God. He made me, He redeemed me, and He directs my path. He directs my path on a Sunday, but He also directs my path on a Monday and on a Tuesday and on every other day. And so when I take my day off, I am thankful to God that He gives to me His time so that I can rest a while. How very foolish we are when we think our time is our time to do with it as we please. Our time is in fact God’s time to do with it as He pleases. He graciously gives me time to work and to rest. He graciously gives me time to lie down and to get up. He graciously gives me time to reflect His glory every moment of every day, whether I’m working or resting. I thank you Lord that today, on my day off, I get to enjoy the time You’ve graciously given to me. Help me today to honour You in all I do. Amen Have a blessed week, I’m Pastor Duncan

09.01.2022 Have you ever been lost? Have you ever found yourself somewhere and you just don’t know where you are? It can be a terrifying thing, particularly when you are all alone. I remember once when my children were all little and one of them managed to separate herself from her mum and me in a large shopping centre. Perhaps you can recall a similar experience. I’m not sure who was more scared - her or us? We were eventually reunited, but not without quite a bit of concern. Did you k...now that is exactly the picture we find in Scripture? We all like sheep have gone astray. That is what the Bible says. We’ve gone astray, we’ve wandered off and got ourselves lost. We are separated from the One who made us and loves us. The great problem however, is this. Whilst God is concerned about the separation, a great many people are not. They don’t even know they are lost. Unfortunately, the consequences of being separated may not be fully realised until it’s too late. One of the reasons for that is because even in our separation God still provides for our needs. He sends the rain. He grows our crops. He provides for us in so many ways. We foolishly think we are self-sufficient, that we don’t need Him. Of course nothing could be further from the truth. God invites us to rediscover our identity. He makes it possible to reconnect, to enter back into a relationship with Him. The Gospel of His Son makes it possible. In Jesus He turns lost people into found people. He turns sorrow into joy. He gives us a purpose and He takes our fear and replaces it with hope. That is what the Gospel does. That my friend is Good News. Have a blessed week, I’m Pastor Duncan

08.01.2022 We’ve all played the game haven’t we? Simon says, put your hands in the air, and we do it. Simon says, sit down, and we sit. And of course those who don’t do it are put out of the game. And that’s a great picture isn’t it, of how the world works. As long as you do what everybody else wants you to do, say what they say, and believe what they believe, you’ll be invited to stay in the game. But then Jesus comes along and says, You don’t have to do or say or believe what the... world believes. Do what I say instead. Why? Because I made you, and I own you, and I love you, and I have a purpose for you. And what we soon discover is that the world doesn’t like it when people who once played its game now listen instead to Jesus. And it responds by kicking them out of the game. It excludes them. It shuns them. It distrusts them. It ridicules them. And in some cases the world will even hate them. And so what exactly does Jesus say? Jesus says, Love God with all your heart and love your neighbour as yourself. Jesus says, Pick up your cross and follow me. Jesus says, Those who believe in me I will never turn away. Jesus says, Trust me and nothing will ever snatch you out of my hand. Jesus says, Come to me all who are burdened and broken, and I will give you rest. Of course what Jesus says, unlike Simon, is not a game. What Jesus says has the authority to free and heal and forgive and reconcile. It’s often not easy listening to Jesus. But it is life transforming. I know who I’m going to listen to, how about you? Have a blessed week, I’m Pastor Duncan

08.01.2022 I would love to tell you that my family is perfect. That I have an extraordinary wife who never disappoints. That my children always do what is expected of them. That I am the best husband and father ever. But of course that is simply not the case. I suspect the same is true of your family. We are all broken, flawed, rough around the edges men and women, who belong to broken, flawed, rough around the edges families. And despite all of that I love my family, and what’s more, G...od loves my family too. We don’t have to try to be what we are not in order to win approval. And the reason we don’t is because Jesus is perfect for us. His perfection, His righteousness, His wholeness - He exchanges all of that for my imperfection, my unrighteousness and my brokenness. I don’t have to pretend that I have it all together. Jesus has it all together for me. And Jesus has it all together for you too. He loves me and my family just the way we are. In all my imperfection Jesus loves me. And rather than leave me there, He lifts me up to where He is. That’s kind of cool. Have a blessed week, I’m Pastor Duncan

07.01.2022 Thank you Pastor Peter...

07.01.2022 If you haven’t done so already, please take the time and listen to this. A fine message from a fine young preacher...

06.01.2022 You do not like green eggs and ham? I do not like them Sam-I-Am. He was just so certain wasn’t he. Green eggs and ham are just horrible. How then did he know? Maybe he heard it somewhere. Maybe he was brought up being taught they were bad. Maybe he just got it in his head. In any case, what becomes clear by the end of the story is that he never actually tasted green eggs and ham. But good old Sam-I-Am just wouldn’t give up would he. He knew how good it really was. And he ...knew that if his friend just tried it for himself, that he would like it too. And finally, after a goat and a boat, a train and some rain, a fox and a box, Sam-I-Am wore him down. And what do you know? He took one bite and he was hooked. Kind of like the Gospel isn’t it. Those of us who have tasted it know how good it really is. And when you’ve tasted it you just want everyone else to taste it too. That’s what love does. It doesn’t give up. It doesn’t easily take no for an answer. It chases those who have never tasted it for themselves until they get tired of saying no. I’m so grateful that the Spirit of God,(another name for Sam-I-Am) never gave up on me. And after wearing me down, I also gave up and tasted it for myself. And I’m so glad I did. I guess that’s one of the reasons why I keep sharing the Gospel every week. I share it with you in the hope that one day you too will give up saying no, and taste it for yourself. Because when you do you’ll understand just how good it is. Go on, have a bite. You’ll be glad you did. Have a blessed week, I’m Pastor Duncan

06.01.2022 In a storm? Listen to another encouraging message from God’s faithful servant...

06.01.2022 I’d love to say I have no regrets. The truth however, is far different. I won’t begin to list them here except to say that I have many. Regrets can be really debilitating can’t they. They tell you that you’re not all you would like to be. They list all of your failings. They convict you of your crimes. Now that’s not necessarily a bad thing. Regrets help you not to place more confidence than you should in your own goodness. They are an ever present reminder that you are not p...erfect. And they soften you when others fail to live up to your expectations. In this respect regrets don’t have to feel like a noose around your neck. They can work in your favour. You can’t change what you’ve done or said, but you can, with God’s help, learn from them and change. Regrets, in other words, tell you who you were and not who you are. If you are truly a Christian, the Scriptures tell us, Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. 2 Corinthians 5:17 I do have regrets. I’ve done some horrible, horrible things. I’ve said things and thought things I can’t take back. But I believe that because I’m in Christ, the future is something to look forward to. That friend, is all kinds of good. Have a blessed week, I’m Pastor Duncan

05.01.2022 Another great message from Glendan...

05.01.2022 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qYMIRZmiW1E

05.01.2022 We’ve all done it haven’t we? We’ve all pushed the boundaries. How far can I go? How much is too much? Pushing the boundaries is, I think, a part of the human condition. Take Roger Bannister for example. Way back in 1954 Roger Bannister ran the mile in under 4 minutes. No one had ever done that before. Indeed many people said it couldn’t be done. But Roger refused to give up. He pushed himself until he got there. People like Neil Armstrong, Florence Nightingale, Edmund Hillar...y, Dorothy Vaughan, Christopher Columbus, and Ruby Bridges - they were all boundary pushers. Jesus was a man who also pushed the boundaries wasn’t He. He pushed the boundaries of physical and spiritual endurance and overcame. But not only did Jesus push the boundaries, when it came to sin and death He smashed them. When everyone else before Him either gave up or fell, Jesus did not. Sin may have defeated others, but not Him. Even death, the boundary that no one has ever succeeded in pushing aside, finally and forever bowed down to Him. Every other achievement, as wonderful as they no doubt are, really does pale into insignificance. Have a blessed week, I’m Pastor Duncan

02.01.2022 I love my wife. She always makes me feel like I’m somebody. She cares for me. She listens to me when I have something to say. She is outrageously patient with me. She is my best friend. She has also given me seven wonderful children. Not perfect children by any means, but wonderful, amazing, beautiful children. I held each one in my hands on the day they came into the world. And Oh how I cried. I cried like a big baby. They were so incredibly amazing. Their tiny fingers all c...rafted by a loving and masterful God. Their little scrunched up noses and pink skin. It made me see in a way perhaps I had never quite seen before, just how awesome is our God. He made them and then He gave them to me. Do you know what that does to a person when they realise that? It changes them so that they cannot help but thank this incredibly generous God for all the good gifts He provides. I pray that I never lose sight of all that God gives and does and is. I pray that you never lose sight of it either. Never cease to wonder at His majesty. Never cease to marvel at His kindness. Never cease to thank Him for who He is. Never cease to praise Him for every moment He gives to you. How blessed are those He calls His children. Have a blessed week, I’m Pastor Duncan

01.01.2022 I used to enjoy flying, but not so much anymore. Not really. It’s become a bit of an effort. One of the things I don’t like is having to carry all that baggage. Packing it and dragging it along and having to wait for it when I step off the plane. Jostling with all the other passengers who seem to be in more of a hurry than me. In recent times I’ve learned to travel light. I’ve found that if I take only the essentials I can usually get away with not having to worry about lugga...ge. A carry on bag will often be enough. In any event, it’s made travelling less burdensome. It has got me thinking however. We do load ourselves down don’t we? How much stuff do we pack into our lives that we really don’t need I wonder? Would life be simpler, more enjoyable, if we dared to free ourselves from all the baggage? Would we worry less? Would we learn to be content with what we had? Might we focus more on what lasts and less on what fades? Would eternity be more important to us than the things that are momentary and passing? Perhaps God is speaking to me about what really matters. Perhaps I’m just tired of carrying around all that baggage. Have a blessed week, I’m Pastor Duncan

01.01.2022 When Jesus shows up, nagging doubt leads to great faith...

01.01.2022 Missed last night's service? Don't worry! Join us tonight at 6:00 pm as Pastor Pete brings the word on YouTube. :)

01.01.2022 Have you ever asked yourself, who really cares? I mean, who cares what we do or what we think or what we say? If we don’t hurt anybody does it really matter how we live our lives? Who cares? Well apart from Mum and Dad, and one or two others perhaps, it seems to me that the answer to that question is no one. Very few people really give a fig how you live if it doesn’t interfere with their own plans. But guess what? God cares. Yes He does. Whether you believe it or not. Wh...ether you think about it or not, God deeply cares about every detail of your life. He cares about what you think and about what you say and about what you do. Whether it affects anybody else or not. God cares. He cares, you see, because He made you and He never gave up ownership of you. He has a plan for your life. He created you in His own image. That means that what we think and what we say and what we do should reflect Him. Of course He cares. So next time you think, who cares? remember that even if no one else does, God most certainly does. Have a blessed week, I’m Pastor Duncan
