25.01.2022 Hughesdale kinder children will commence school holidays on Tuesday 24th March. The decision as to when the kinder will open in Term 2 will be based on future government advice. We will continue to update families throughout this time. Stay well and look after yourselves

24.01.2022 This week is "Children's Week" and Hughesdale Kinder will be celebrating with our annual Art Show. This year's Kinder art show will be extra special... with art work being displayed on the Kinder fence line so that all families and local community will be able to enjoy the colourful works of art! Families may also be interested in participating in an online workshop that the NGV is offering especially for children under 5. Over the years she has taught generations of Hughesdale, Murrumbeena and Carnegie kinder kids to paste, paint, share and play as part of their school readiness preparations. Many of you in our community will have happy memories of you or your children spending time with Mari at Hughesdale Kindergarten. ... To honour and acknowledge Mari's enormous contribution to our Kinder and community we will be making a short presentation to Mari at the beginning of our upcoming AGM. 01.01.2022 Hughesdale Kinder has joined the global bear hunt! Inspired by the book We’re Going on a Bear Hunt by Michael Rosen and Helen Oxenbury, people all around the world are putting teddy bears in their front windows and front yards for children and their families to find whilst out walking. It’s a great way to keep children active walking around and spotting furry teddies, and importantly it’s a lovely distraction from the worry of the news we are currently involved in. Why no...t walk past kinder on your daily walk and count the number of bears (maths) and look for similarities in the bears: small, fluffy, wearing a hat, etc (developing and extending language and conversations and as well as creating an inquisitive mind). Families can get involved and put some teddy bears in their windows at home too, adding to the neighbourhood bear hunt! See more
