01.01.2022 Why did our podiatrist, Erin, choose to study podiatry! So Erin, why did you choose to study podiatry? I chose podiatry after first pursuing a career in animal biosciences. ... I decided that podiatry was perfect as it incorporated my love of science and working with people on a daily basis. What is your favourite thing about podiatry? My favourite thing about podiatry is that regardless of the problem, we can usually do something small in a consult to make the person feel better than when they walked into our room. Some issues can take a long time to fully resolve but we can usually at least start the solution immediately. I also love being able to chat to people and hear their stories as I work. What is a fun fact about podiatry? Podiatrists don’t just cut nails... We perform minor surgeries, manage sports injuries, developmental concerns from babies up to adulthood and the list goes on! What is your most asked question on a daily basis? Why would you want to work with feet all day? Because I love it! If something goes wrong with a foot it can affect the workings on your whole body like a chain reaction! Besides... It’s like any profession, it has pros and cons, just like nursing, dentistry, teaching, rubbish removal... don’t even get me started on proctologists.... Everyone has their niche. Call our clinic on (03) 5332 2656 to schedule your appointment with Erin!
